Too bad that the engine sounds in GT5 are complete crap, id like the game a hell of a lot more if it had sampled sounds from the real engines but now i get bored real quick of that fake synthesized crap and just turn it off. I bought my PS3 for this game specifically but i cant stand the sounds, like the lambos sounding like some shitty car game from the mid 90's. They spent far too much time on the visuals but not nearly enough time on the audio.

@Sunedosa Can't you get over the sounds? I mean, the game is great. Sounds may not be the strongest point, but still, the gampelay, graphics, variety of cars to choose from. I think we can forgive Polyphony the engine sounds. It's like I don't even hear them when I'm focusing on the driving.

For me it is and has always been about the complete package, the spinetingling experience of driving (allmost :p ) tons of exotic cars that all of us dream about, if it doesn't sound right it just lessens the experience for me because it is such an intregral part of the game. We all KNOW how these cars should sound with the aid of tv, movies and the internet so when it doesn't sound right it just falls on it's ass for me.

I also own a 360 and since getting Forza 4 wich allmost looks as good but sounds soo much better i have zero incentive to go back to GT5. I'd much rather lap the ring in turn 10's version of the Zonda R that sounds allmost exactly like the original than Polyphonys that looks arguably slightly better but has a syntesized engine note that wouldn't fool anyone that has access to youtube :) GT5 could have been soo much better if they had used samples instead, guess time ran out.

Yea m8, i hope so too but imagine the size of that patch lol. For me it would be enough if they patched the premium cars plus the race cars etc. I can't be bothered if a siliva 2003's engine doesn't sound right, that just doesn't matter.

@Sunedosa Okay, first of all let me explain it in a way that you could understand. First of all, standard cars, as we know, are crap so put them out of the way. Next with premium cars, because of that weak and computer generated sound from the engine, I know why you think the sound sucks. On the other hand, what you are hearing, is the transmission whine, which is basically blocking the powerful sound of the engine. So a good trick is to have a good stereo system... cont...

Tried that and while it made things a tad better it still didn't make the aventador sound anything like real life, the F4 version is a lot better.

@Sunedosa Okay, for Forza 4. Yes, the sound rocks, but is it accurate? Forza sounds exaggerated in my opinion, as a Citroen C1 should not sound like a Ford Mach 1. I believe that Turn 10 does not want to give you accurate sounds, but to give the sound that you WANT to hear.

In YOUR opinion maybe, but again in the case of the Aventador: compare the videos from doctaM3 ( who owns one and have posted videos on youtube) with videos from the same car ingame Forza 4, they are really close so your theory doesn't hold water at all.

Matter of opinion there, GT5 has slightly better idle and better on/off throttle but Forza 4 sounds better on higher revs, if they had combined the 2 it would have been perfect imo.

@serginietor yes, 300nm at 18k rpm is the same as 600nm at 9k rpm, but at 9k rpm you don't have that much hp? right?

@breedam well, you might get around 400-600 bhp, but if you think about it, when they change up a gear, if they were in the redline (as they usually are) the next gear will probably start from around 15000 or 16500 RPM, so the engine is mostly generating full power during the whole race, it rarely gets below 10000 RPM while accelerating (it obviously does when braking, but that's useless lol)

@cellgretsch Look what Forza has done to you! It has stopped you from liking other forms of motorsport! You obviously haven't tried GT5, its better. Because the producer adores cars, and can actually race, he placed 1st in his class at 24h or Nurburging, and since hes been around that track soooo many times, he can easliy transfer into the game. Forza makes there track based on what THEY think. Forza is just for show, its like fake food, it looks good, but what you taste, it tastes terrible.

@cellgretsch GT5 packs in a lot of fun, the weather effects really makes you alert and every move must be precise and controlled. GT5 is more realistic too, many find. It does have its faults. Forza is newer, remember, and a but more polished up. THey should make it for ps3
