As record label and original remixer of this track, along with the guy who put farley and john together for the remix this track samples (not really samples, just edits), I find it a bit priceless that Mr May gave very little credit to the original creators...this coming from someone who is usually very hardcore and radical about claiming his credit and place in the world of dance music
@arthurhbaker I so agree even if you're not who you say you are!!! When I picked this up (for serious pounds!) I thought it was ace but familiar... digging through my crates realised I already had it but for a lot less cash!!!
Baanbrekend !!

aww, did you take it personal?
are we a little sensitive? - this is feeble compared to fingers, marshall jefferson/ virgo etc - that's house - it's this sort of 'knocked out ' dull filter rubbish that's destroyed house music. dull. dull. dull.
You must have a low attention span to sit through seven minutes of this. Still, it's not your fault you're easily pleased. So go on; turn it up and nod your head like a wind up toy if it makes you happy.
IMO, i think the tune was ahead of its time with the filtering. Also, it shouldnt be taken too seriously. Don't all we housejunkies sometimes run into a rif that sounds so sweet that you can just put it in a loop and listen to it endlessly? That's exactly what was done here, probably drugged up after a party, playing around with farley's loop having it pressed the day after, anonymously. The rest is history. Its no masterpiece but this tune definitely raised some hands!
Under the track title it says: "Original composition Rocca & Stenned". So watch your words before you accuse this artist of ripping off someone's tracks.
Yeah I have the Farley remixes on 12" too... It's a great riff but to be honest this sounds too much like Derrick's over-twiddling the knobs on the filter pots for my liking... Can't believe he released this under his own name without crediting the original producer... Skanky.

I am wrong. My version is very similar to yours starting from the 3:25 mark. Your intro is amazing with the dubbing, fading, and HEAVY bassline. Mine has more piano throughout and absolutely none of that awesome Bass.... so sad.

@arthurhbaker
Agreed! I didn't know this until now but it is very disappointing to find out. Completely hypocritical and shows a lack of ethics!
Like Paul Wheller did to Joe Smooth re: Promise Land.

Seems to me ultimately all he did was what was meant to happen... it's dj culture, and he's synonymous with that.

i think my man's way better then Juan Atkins. Maybe it's just me but i think Thomas Bangalter got some inspiration from this.

Well he didnt release it under his own name, but "Incogdo" which sounds to me as "Incognito"
I'll post the Farley mix of John Rocca some day.

Very interesting.
I have the 12" remix of John Rocca which has an identical remix but it's called "I Want to Be Real, Farley's Hot House mix". There is also another instrumental house mix, along with the original freestyle version.

This track was entirely ripped from Farley's mix of I Want to Be Real. That's why it got banned.

It's a shame it had to get banned.
I really do like it.
