another easy way to enable the console is to right click on the game on steam and open properties -> set lauch options: -console

this does also work on other valve games, as CS and CS:S

There is an even quicker way.

Follow the steps as above, pick an "unsupported" map for bots, such as 2fort.

Then do the following console commands

tf_bot_add 20

bot_kill all

viola! harvest their innards and gifts.

turns out the dev console was bound to ` for me. Don't know if it has anything to do with this, but my keyboard layout was german and even then the correct key didn't react. So the best way for me was to remap the dev console to another key ;) If you have enough time you can also just kill yourself with a regular weapon, just takes longer ^^ happy coal hunt and good luck ;)

Had myself some problems getting those gifts ... had many kills and nothing.. maybe bad servers or something.. I quit tf2 some time ago... and i wont most likely return to it since i sold my Bill's hat for 22 coals..:D *sniff*

Faster way, use these 3 commands:

"mp_disable_respawn_times 1" "tf_bot_add 23" "bind k tf_bot_kill all"

You'll have a full server and every time you click k all the bots died. I got the achievement in about 20 seconds (though I did already have 1 from an actual game).

For you people that simply don't get any drops at all, probably means the gift command is somehow disabled by default, I myself had that problem and after a very struggling and long search I found this command which should make it work like a charm:

mp_holiday_nogifts 0

After that they should drop totally normal, I don't care about thumbs up but feel free to give it... so more people can stop struggling... even though the majority probably has it already by now.

@dweezy1688 If you're not using an american keyboard layout the normal button might not work. In that case you need to rebind the console button to another button.

I bind mine to the * button on my numeric keypad.

@alejomegainc In your game libary, find tf2, right click, chose settings (the buttom of the pop-up window), click "chose start settings" (or something like that) right under the little checked box "enable steam community in-game", there should be popping a little box up with a writting field, in that field write this without quatition marks "-console"

@Seeveerin No editing. I guess I got lucky. If your own server doesn't work, join an empty one with no respawn times and do the same thing. Or play the game and it shouldn't take too long.

I'm an avid TF2 player, over 1500+ hrs. I just made this video to get the achievement quickly so we can move on to the other objectives in the event, since there are many of them. Plus, there may be those who don't want to play the game. If you don't like the video, just move along. Don't hate.

I don't know why people are disliking this. The alternative is shit players like myself forcing themselves to play the game so that they can get presents. What happens is because we're so bad, we contribute nothing to the team and take a long time to get presents, meaning whatever team we are on is down a player.

Just a suggestion: People should try and pick a map that doesn't have two separate spawns such as koth_viaduct. If you drop a gift on 2fort and you spawn in the other room you won't be able to pick it up :)
