i have an 05rc srt10. i've driven a lightning as well. they both handle good and r fun to drive but i prefer the srt10 just becuase i like dodge and always have. lightnings are a lil slower but not by much so i think its just what people like.

as i said make sure the turbos are supplying enough air and not restricting flow causeing cavitation. second there is a lot you could do. ignition timing, fuel supply, chip it. its just that im sure that the turbos are not the only upgrade. and with those assumed upgrades in combination with twin turbos. more power should have been gained. its still a beast don't get me wrong, it was a beast out of the factory. but i would expect 760-840hp outta that.
tuning is working with all the engines parts 2 find the perfect combination of fuel injection, air intake, and combustion as well as timing.... if done correctly.... a engine that used 2 put out 500 hp could put out 100 or 200 more... simply by using the engine more efficiency
the Ram SRT-10 both with the 6-speed and the auto had 500hp from the factory bub. look it up anywhere. 525ft-lbs. of course all these numbers are give or take a few. but 500 was the rounded of average. 463? this is a viper motor. the SRT-10 powertrains lowest rating ever was 480 in the early vipers. 99 and down.

so then your saying the SRT-10 is the same? because it runs .1 faster on the quarter then a lightning and it's a stick too. and 1999 is when the SC lightning came out, so the base motor would be from then. if they were to use a 5.4L from now then guess what? you would have the GT500 motor in it and be making 540hp with a SC 5.4L.

yeah its a sleeper truck for sure...there ain't nothing that makes it stand out other than the R/T badge on the grill....in terms of looks the older style special edition trucks were alot cooler even though they weren't really much different drivetrain wise.
not quite sure but i heard somewhere the R/T has a different torque converter to rip that 0-60 time that is special to that truck only.

well the new rams i'm not 100% sure but i think probably the biggest increase in HP was with the new valve timing and the increase in compression. but there should be plenty of aftermarket for the last generation 5.7 to give it more grunt
I also love the new challengers that is my next car black on black R/T to get the lifetime warranty those things just looks so badass even though they aren't as fast as a camaro or modified mustang they just look better plus if you get that shaker hood by cervinis badfuckingass

Lets see here the new RAM makes 390HP and over 400 pounds of torque WITHOUT a supercharger....Not to mention its not a performance truck so you won't get screwed on the insurance cost. The last generation of Hemi's made around 345HP and a supercharger easily puts that past the lightening.

No, it is not porsche like handling but it is awesome for a truck and even compared to the average car. It's a built motor, capable of handling over 1100rwhp and I've seen lightnings making anywhere from 500 to 1000rwhp on a turbo system, no nitrous and still on pump gas. and if you ask me, the way you thought I meant about twice the motor, why doesn't the 8.3L v10 woop the lightning really bad? if fact they are almost dead even, but difference here is, ford is cheaper, better MPG, and built better. never seen a viper hit 500k miles before either.

Sweet truck, I would like to see under the hood. I love the idea of a forced induction gas truck because I built one, but only 8 PSI w/ twin spools? I understand you get less boost lag w/ twins but is it worth the ass pain of dealing with the exhaust? It's way faster than what I have but I was just thinking about that.

He's probably on a stock motor. Which is why he's only running 6.5 psi and a conservative tune. That's pretty stout for that amount of boost ;)
To go for more power, he needs to forge the bottom end.

The numbers you are quoting are BHP from the factory, not wheel horsepower. The WHP of them was about 460hp. Look up stock SRT10 dyno videos.

the RAM R/T runs a 14.4 in the quarter and 0-60 in 5.7 secs.
that's not bad for a truck that weighs 4770 pounds thats not performance oriented.
your beloved lightening does it 5.2 secs with a supercharger and the quarter in 13.7. thats not significantly better for a "performance truck."

I like the vipers ALOT but I don't care for the SRT10. why would I buy a truck for twice the price to only run .1 faster? but I wouldn't buy either unless I was loaded. and like I said it's not just about power. you should do some more research.

Btw the SRT-FAIL is only the fastest pruduction truck because it has a T-56 6 speed with the Viper gear set in which 6th has a 0.50 O/D and these can be dropped into almost any vehicle. yeah its a sleeper truck for sure...there ain't nothing that makes it stand out other than the R/T badge on the grill....in terms of looks the older style special edition trucks were alot cooler even though they weren't really much different drivetrain wise.
not quite sure but i heard somewhere the R/T has a different torque converter to rip that 0-60 time that is special to that truck only.

yeah it'll be a while before i'll be able to afford an SRT10. that truck even though it's cool is way too much for the average joe to drive even on fridays.
well the new rams i'm not 100% sure but i think probably the biggest increase in HP was with the new valve timing and the increase in compression. but there should be plenty of aftermarket for the last generation 5.7 to give it more grunt

Since you're comparing a V8 to a V10 why don't we compare the 5.7 to the lightening instead?
Lets see here the new RAM makes 390HP and over 400 pounds of torque WITHOUT a supercharger....Not to mention its not a performance truck so you won't get screwed on the insurance cost. The last generation of Hemi's made around 345HP and a supercharger easily puts that past the lightening.

yes but there is big bifferences between the 2. the 5.4 is built.....the 5.7 is not. and boy what a great argument that is, what does the 390hp 5.7 "hemi" run on the 1/4? yea don't forget it's NOT a sport truck. and if you were to put a supercharger on a 5.7, it probably would not be a plane jane Eaton m112 which is terribly unefficeint. Don't forget the N/A 5.4 made 260hp and 300tq back in 99 which is what it was based on. the 99 ram made 230hp? WHOA!!!

No, it is not porsche like handling but it is awesome for a truck and even compared to the average car. It's a built motor, capable of handling over 1100rwhp and I've seen lightnings making anywhere from 500 to 1000rwhp on a turbo system, no nitrous and still on pump gas. and if you ask me, the way you thought I meant about twice the motor, why doesn't the 8.3L v10 woop the lightning really bad? if fact they are almost dead even, but difference here is, ford is cheaper, better MPG, and built better. never seen a viper hit 500k miles before either.

Sweet truck, I would like to see under the hood. I love the idea of a forced induction gas truck because I built one, but only 8 PSI w/ twin spools?
