"her voice is full of money"... a quote that can be analysed to the high heavens! Is Gatsby in love with Daisy, her money, or his goal of prosperity through the means of money?
dead seagull scene kinda gross and unsanitary.but i must say gatsby dresses so well and he looks good he reminds of brad pitt a little..daisy is just getting on my nerves..i am proud to say i fast forward some parts with her in it..she is just so immature for a women..and she cries about every damn thing..just chill lady...and i thought it was a white dress not blue dress...7:26 that was the "you never told me you had a kid face" yeah awkward moment
So many events in my life were quite like this. Really. I'd forgotten about many of them but kept diaries. Yes, I am a writer, and yes, a lot has been published. Thank you so much for this upload. Uprated.
I watching this because it's SO DAMN ROMANTIC. >_>;; *Spaz!* <3 It's like the Scarlet Pimpernel! I hope I can be this romantic someday to the girl that I lost to time, years ago. Successful, witty, charming... But first I gotta study Gatsby's style more first. *Takes notes*
@TheWayne8698673 when i read it in the book i thought so too. i was watching this old film from the 1920s and they used the word swagger..i was like wow..they were getting there swagg on all the way back then!!lol
imagine some guy who dressed up like a C.I.A, F.B.I or O.S.S or what ever the fuck he is just randomlly shows up infront of your house with a cigarette and said "Want to ask some question about your neighor" just soo creepy
the old adage applies here: most times, reality just doesn't live up to the fantasy...both daisy and gatsby had built each other up so much in their minds that neither could ever have lived up to such high expectations. and, p.s., i've been around so many super wealthy ppl, and, they're so affected by their lifestyles..not in a good way, either. they're all just highly unstable ppl in nicer homes.
Daisy is a ditsy little bitch who neglects her child.
I think Family Guy made a funny reference the other night- As the car taker leads her away she says: "Come on child you can rub some lotion on my elbows"
@opipcardenas She says he has air conditioning I the first time she visits his house. I think, I could be wrong seems a little early for that though. Maybe its a fancy ice box idk and Idc :)
@AZN0RiCeCaKe: Air conditioning wasn't invented until the '30s. Even then few homes had them--only some of the very rich. Large buildings started to get them in the '30s--like movie houses, which is one of the reasons going to the movies was so popular. Escape into fantasy while you escape the hot weather.
@Chutyretro i doubt that. its possible that the movie and the book just suck even though its regarded highly. please tell me what is to understand, what is WORTH understanding? these characters are so plastic they should be melting instead of sweating in that heat.
i know this is suppose to be a classic but frankly i don't care about any of these people or what ever their problems are. in fact they have no real problems other than being lightweight, superficial people.
@MisterBouncyBounce You're right. I think that one of the main points of the novel is the shallowness of these pampered rich people (specifically the Buchanans) and how, in their self-absorption, they wreak havoc on people who don't live in the same protective cocoon that they enjoy.
@yami002200 The book and the movie were made before Wikipedia you simpleton fuck, you really are retarded, unless you are making a joke which isn't funny anyway.
@aish31lilin That's kinda the point. The book wasn't much of a jump out. But if people were to actually read it, the story itself is interesting but pointless.
@jmstit3 ...I think she is more immature, and never had a chance to develop emotionally with someone. Now that she is, it's most likely a great breath of fresh air, so within the miserable adulterous marriage, I think she cares little about anything now. Though, it is a shame, and she is doing as Tom has now.
@aarfeld - I agree with you. But she's also batshit crazy. See more of my comment about her gender role in society here /comment?lc=T_HCaU7PRwb6Z_XCz2AjPAGWCISPoHJfHqsgNpEDHOY
