  • Hmmm... interesting. So Derek Wadsworth wrote this music before the one actually used in season 2? I can see why it was rejected!

  • Ever notice how in old science fiction people live in space but everyone still has giant old crappy computers, but in reality people have fancy pocket sized computers and nobody lives in space?

  • Of all of the alternates that I've heard before...this was one of the ones I actually liked. And I like the opening you've created for it. Considering being lost and randomly moving baout out in space would put them into one challenging situation after another...this high energy, highly active opening and score is fitting and very well done. Had we had a 3rd season, it would've worked.

  • I think Barry Gray made a much better job of it. Sorry mr. Anderson, but this time I think you were wrong :L

  • This version would have been good for The Persuaders....ha ha.

  • I would have shit a moon if they used this.

  • Opening (in fact better than original) but music crap. Sounds like something you would expect from Ironside or Quincy MD. Season ones music was stirring and u could hear gr8 things where gonna b seen!

  • @xr6lad Mr. Anderson wanted something like Hawaii 5-0 and this was the one proposed by Derek Wadsworth.

  • @albertolagun Thank crikey someone showed Derek Wadsworth the door! If this is his answer to the genius classic theme Hawaii 5-0 -and he made a living proposing this crap, I should pimp my wailing dog to the studios and chill all day. Theme from Series 1 is way better than this - as for Hawaii 5-0 - still unchanged, a masterpiece. (although miss the catamaran scenes)

  • All I can say is "WOW"!! This is a MARVELOUS opening, this quick chop editing was so professional -so slick that it makes me want to sit so eagerly 2 feet in front of the television expecting in my head a 3rd season to air...if only it would!

My compliments albertolagun, you should be Gerry and Sylvia Anderson's personal editor!!!

And yes! A Bag of Doritoes would be dammed good with a coke -only in AMERICA!! GOD BLESS HER!!!

  • Gosh! That's really cool. You're very talented. That opening rocks!

  • Hmm sounds very 70's this music - but where is it from ? Perhaps background music to one of the 1999 episodes

  • @ewaf88 One of the rejected opening theme songs for Space 1999: Series Two.

  • @starsiegeplayer Thanks for reply - I must admit that I prefer the one eventually chosen - but this theme is not without merit

  • I ALWAYS LOVED SPACE 1999 & THE THEME SONG OF SPACE 1999 MUSIC!!

  • That's it.

I WANT TO LIVE IN AN EAGLE TRANSPORTER TRAILER HOME!!!

  • it's goodish

  • Wow..magnifique intro!!!

  • Visuals are better. Music is worse, not as bad as Enterprise but its still not good.

  • Here comes Space Bond: 999

    Teeheehee!

  • Space 1999 - A Quinn Martin Production.

  • That's a very good one, could have been the theme for The Streets of San Francisco!

  • Sounds like "Space Vegas:1999 !" hehe

  • Damn thats catchy!

  • Good job man. I dig it

  • I once ate Doritoes while watching "Space 1999". Really, I'm not kidding.

  • @kirkenbunken You are such an exciting person. You put me to shame....it scares me.

  • This is great.

  • Oh WOW! I love that! Excellent work!

  • I like!

It's in keeping the the Anderson convention of many rapid, short cuts in a show into.

  • Better than the original. Did you make this yourself? The music is from the Fanderson Space: 1999 Documenatry. Great job though!

  • Good job on the editing, I like it better than the original.

  • You made this up yourself.

  • Music is good...

But- too much happening on-screen... Cannot look at them all!!

  • It sounds like a generic 1970's tlevision theme. If you can't see the screen, you couldn't reall tell what it was about.

  • Music is really catchy. But it's still a shame Barry Gray didn't do the music for Space 1999 Series 2.

  • He was pissed off at Gerry Anderson by that time, Gerry was gettin presure from the studios to change and make it more snazzy and jazzy crap.
