    Why are u guys complaining so much. Yes some obstacles should be to challenging for them but if u really know zombies they always find a way to get 2 u. Zombies are suppose to be a real threat, not a useless mob.

    I don't see any fun or challenge in fighting zombies right now or in the previous versions which is y i'm really excited for their new AI for v1.2, i especially like it now they can break down wooden doors :)

  • Zombies should not be ''quite'' as intelligent as that. They're supposed to be freaking stupid! And creepers are going to ruin the fucking game now.

  • I think zombies should remain a dumb mod. I mean, they are zombies, they just go "Brains..." and straight shot to the nearest brain. Creepers would be 1000x scarier with this pathfinder thingy, but would make a lot more sense to have smart creepers than smart zombies.

  • The guy who is making the AIs right now is brilliant. Finally mobs are a bit more than annoying idiots which don't see through windows because the reflection is so shiny.

    They are now combat machines that go through hell to get braaaiiins.

    If creepers are right out, give it to pigmen. Zombies shouldn't be able to pathfind that well.

  • @NoobOfLore they gave it to zombies so there more of a threat, even if you out run them no matter how far you get (well not really they'll despawn if too far) they'll still find you and now they can see through windows so now my house isn't safe...

  • The new pathfinding AI is terrifying. I was going down my mineshaft to harvest some lava, right? Well, it goes through a cave that I haven't gotten around to blocking off yet, and I noticed a skeleton. "Ah, whatever, I'll just keep walking." Several turns and a staircase later, I get to the lava, grab up one bucketful, and... TWANG. The freaking skeleton knocks me into the lava. It followed me, and knocked me into the lava! Not cool skeleton dude! Not cool! D:

  • @DarkAngelKisses13th I guess Creepers have a form of pathfinding in which they hide from view until the player passes by. Have fun exploring the caves.

  • @DarkAngelKisses13th Creepers already got the haxxor pathfinding, but they don't use it as much because of their new AI making them stalk you rather than just plain out find you and blow up.

  • This is too good. The 2nd course with the zombie: They shouldn't be able to figure out that path. They should take the path to get the closest to you, i.e. go on the bridge up, and part way through, try to jump to the player.

  • Creepers shouldn't do this, but charged ones should

  • @HakoroNui creepers have advanced ai only on hard mode would be better idea. charged creepers are just too rare

  • @BoTManiack they have pathfinding, so that makes chokepoints and traps much more effective.

    This. I'm not big on double doors, so this is an annoyance. Glad they're getting a major intelligence boost, though.  Can't tell you how many of the things I've lost to lava.

  • Why do people think zombies are too smart? They always know when you're most vulnerable (like in the bathroom) and they eat brains all day. Thus, they have more brains than any of us

  • @ReddCarran I meant to wrote Jon xD I really do like the changes that are happening to minecraft though with jeb at the helm - more creativity than adventure style gameplay. I will only be sad if this AI mechanic is given to creepers too :(

    I'm afraid of the new AI, to be honest.. If all of the mobs get smart, Vechs's maps will be SO much harder.

  • Just because something doesn't have a brain doesn't mean it can't negotiate a maze. Slime molds can navigate mazes. So I don't see why a primitive zombie brain wouldn't be able to. Sometimes simple is better.

  • @emoasfxck slime molds navigate mazes by going through all paths at once, and then only maintaining the most optimal path. Zombies should probably use this type of intelligence as well, trying all paths through sheer numbers so that a couple get through (like zombie survival movies)

  • Would there be any way to make zombies try to jump one-wide gaps (over holes/water/lava)? It would be interesting primarily if that meant they still had a chance to fail the jump. Might help with the "zombies are too smart" thing.

    All in all, though, this is friggin' sweet!
