the f1100 has a turbo the standard procross 1100 without a turbo only has 135hp the apex is a better sled anyway 150+hp put a turbo on a apex and you will have more than 177hp
My Father is buying this sled, He used to drive a 2004 Polaris 600 XC Touring, The 600 was the largest sled he ever had in his life, Now 52 and going to an 1100 I think hes going to kill himself.
My yamaha dealer had new nytro sled go down just because they was riding on water. The engine actually seized when running on water. I expect arctic cat 1100 to be much more reliable.. Low rpm engine for long life, no reduction gearing, build for turbo from the beginning. And Suzuki have more experience building reliable 4strokes. How many car engines have yamaha build compared to Suzuki.. Not many. Suzuki definitely have the experience advantage. And I don't care for 3-4cyl on snow
@FrankieJames7 Kid, I've had more poo's than you could dream of at the age of 14. My favorite sled from Polaris was my 04 RMK 800. Turboed that sucker and she ran like a raped ape, when she ran. I've had an XC700, an XCR800, an 08 Dragon 800(biggest pos ever made, worse than an ETEC). Cat has held up more reliability points with me than Poo, and has always been faster and easier to work on. I'm now strictly cat.
you guys never tested the pro r switchback, bullshit that arctic crap would break down in the first few miles after break in, ski doo is make of shitty plastic and if you hit a tree at 15 mph, your sled is gone, yamaha is bullshit and weight half a ton, polaris is the best there is
@sledhead6661 Wow, son. Please tell me me that was a joke BRP(Bombardier Rotax) make the ETEC engine. It's a piece of shit. IsoFlex crank bearings, weak pistons and moly impregnated rings that flake and cause meltdowns...learn what your talking about before you open your trap..
@Hotelmotelkfc I rode Polaris before and ski Doo before switching to Cat. 4/7 guys(including me) ride cats. Most have been riding them for years now. We have not had one cat fail on us. We had two CFI 800s and the same ETEC go 6 times. Have no experience with yamaha sleds personally, but I know the ape lives hyfax. But like I said, cats been bullet proof for us.
I would vote it sled of the year like these guys. If I to had a new sled each year. Cause by next year this thing will be breaking down and will be in the repair shop more than on the trail. It is an Arctic Cat after all. If you plan on owning a sled for more than a year. It's gotta be Yamaha. Skidoo & Pullyerass follow behind
@Hotelmotelkfc you are dumb...... I have had arctic cats all my life and have never had a problem other then a belt going out on my crossfire from me beating on it.
@Trooperx86 Is that you doing the drunken dance doofus? Yeah I thought so. You're opinion means nothing. Cat's break on the trail more than any other sled. 177HP out of twin. Oh yeah it's going to last...One season.
@Hotelmotelkfc Oh really? One season? My father baught the 2009 Z1 Turbo sno pro and rides the crap out of it. I rode it a couple weekends on nothing but moguls and still strong as ever. You have this big claim? Show me some statistics, I am not seeing this, my one friend has ski doo's and his sleds are always broken down including the brand new sled he got last year that broke down ON HIS FIRST TRIP.
stock specs from yamaha lists horspower at 163hp. when it comes to 4stoke technology yamaha is and will be for the forseeable future at the top of the industry, simple fact.
@radioactivepenguin23 Unfortunately theyre still not winning... the real sled companies are going to be moving into the market more and more and Yamahoppers will only be a thing of the past.
@radioactivepenguin23 why the hell are you arguing about that, you buy the snowmobile that is most one funny..not because of technology. yamaha dosn't stand a chance against this beast, accept it.
Arctic Cats are nice and go really good, but the 2007-09 are one of the most unreliable sleds out there cuzz everyone messes with the clutching and doesnt know wat they are doin, u really know nothing, sounds like ur a trail rider dude.
@cyrx1972 The brand is unreliable because amateurs play with clutching?
Not a single word of that statement made sense... Suzuki motors are the most reliable, BRPs, the least...Etec is a fucking joke..look up" how to be sled sick"
@the934x4 Most reliable sled motor is the Yamaha not Suzuki. 2012 XF 1100 looks amazing. But Cat's reliability issues come to mind right away. I have seen more broken Cat's then any other brand at the side of the trail over the years. Sad but true! They look cool, nice ride, great power,. BUT unless you are buying a new sled each year. Cat's un-reliable. If you want an example of typical Arctic Cat trouble? Check out the legendary "ANGRY ONTARIO SNOWMOBILER" video here on youtube.
165 my ass. Stock yamis can barely hang with the 800 2 smokes. As for only having 177 hp. A chip can get to 230's. If you mod it 300 is possible on stock turbo.
@childofthestud have fun working on that thing when you put it up to 300 horse. the arctic cat sleds are running 16 pounds boost stock, thats enough already 300 hp will be above 20 pounds. the nytro is running 180 horse on about 8 pounds of boost. low boost and safe on the motor.
it makes me laugh when arctic cat and ski-doo put turbo chargers on their four stoke sleds, 1100cc arctic cat without a turbo is only 115hp?....okay yamaha is running a 998cc 4cyl 4stroke pulling at roughly 165hp without a turbo, with a turbo people a reporting 250+ hp.
@NeedMoSpeed636 The 2012 lineup is ONLY 2cyl engines, both 2 and 4 stroke. XF/F1100 suzuki 4 stroke is a very big twin, not a 4cyl. I work on them, I un-crate and PDI them almost daily, the only thing I haven't done yet is ride one. And I'm sure it's outta control @177hp, lol.
I prefer the XF1100 Turbo Retro, it's the same sled but in black with green old school lettering and striping.
ok i am not a cat fan by all means but DAMN i am liking the looks of that thing. and the sounds alot better the Z1 turbo. and its quite. nice one artic cat about time you build a nice sled. but 177HP thats not near enough. but the question is how much TQ does it make? being turboed i would think it would be around 250 or up. does anyone know how much boost it is putting out? cant be much. and how many cyl does it have? sry about all the questions but just wondering. did cat put there own eng in?
Nice looking ,by what they are saying its one sick sled..177 hp Like to see the others brands try to come close to that HP.Not Happening.Dont hate just because they have the best looking, most power and best riding sled now !!!
@polariskid22 ow what the fuck ever there the best sleds ever advented they set the standered every year they come out with a new motel with out cats all snowmobiles would suckand u know it
