MMB's drumline has improved SO MUCH over the years! The Nix era really helped whip their drumline back into shape. I really love that overtight snare sound much better than the loosey-goosey flat sound from, for example, way back in the becher years.
I was on the field with Ball State, and it was a definate honor to be able to share the stage with Michigan. Definate class act, and AMAZING performers! Plus....Patrick Stewart was cool, too.
Well, I can't really talk about Michigan, since I'm in that band (tuba) but I can say that both MSU and OSU are actually quite good, based on what I've seen. PSU isn't in a league with MSU or OSU, but they're not terrible either. Granted, I think the Script Ohio is about the most mind-numbing thing ever, but that's a given: I go to Michigan.
Now, you want to talk BAD bands...Wisconson and USC.

You're right b/c for some reason people in Ann Arbor put themselves above everyone else when Ann Arbor isn't that great of a place. The nicest parts in the state of Michigan are in Michigan State country.
your marching band isnt the best, they cant even stand in straight lines during their halftime show. Spartan Marching Band kills MMB at the end of the game every year.
Were you right in front of that guy with the plastic horn? He was trying to play over the Ball State trumpet players' solos, it was hilarious. Anyways...our drumline is amazing.
