  • The images you picked are fabulous, but I have to say that the playing behind it is marvelous, thanks for posting such beautiful work... keep going... inspire... we all need it!!!!

  • The pictures are amazing, I want to visit every single one othese places; just unbelievable beautiful. Thanks for sharing!

  • This is absolutely incredible!

  • Is it just me or does the mix on this song seem a little off? Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love Neal Schon and his playing, tone, his songs, everything. But the mix just seems a little...strange...But maybe it's just me.

  • Neal is simply a great guitar player.

  • I remember seeing Neal Schon on Dio's Hear n Aid video (which had Vivian Campbell, George Lynch, Brad Gillis...just to name a few)...and I when they got to his solo part it was a goosebump on arm moment. Yeah, he plays the Journey lovey dovey stuff, but when he gets down he can shred with the best of em, no doubt.

  • I never heard this guy till now and instantly I'm a fan its just beautiful music :)

  • 1 persons head exploded from the pure awesome resonating from this song.

  • who the fuck gave a thumb down??

  • @deffensh the guy who gave a thumb down is an ass hole

  • his tone is like an extreme version of Claptons tone around that time.. yunno post-Cream era. Its so fricken awesome

  • sounds great!

  • These pics are Outstanding! &.....the Music is as Wonderfully Tranquil as Nature Herself:)

    What a Musician.

    D~

  • Unbelivable, Great Stuff and very Different Style of Guitar tone!

  • So relaxing!

  • which album is this in?

  • @GViliahtida it is from Beyond The Thunder

  • ..awesome.. the most beautiful tune from Neal Schon.. ;-)

  • Truly beautiful! Really good phrasing, and amazing tone! I believe he is using a Fender Strat (with his custom pickups), I never knew that you can get such an amazing warm tone from a strat lol. I agree with many people on here...he really is an underrated guitarist. Schon's intrumentals are the best of the best guitar instrumentals out there :)

  • Beautiful music!

  • Neal Schon is not an underrated guitarist. It's just many of the "younger generation" today don't know of him, Journey's music along with many other bands only gets promoted on classic rock stations even if they release new material. Guitar mags also often promote the newer bands/musicians,etc....Anyone who grew up in the 70s-80s or knows about the great bands/music of days gone by know Neal Schon is one of the greats. My fave bands were Van Halen, Scorps etc, but also knew and loved Journey...

  • I think Neal Schon is an underrated guitarist

  • @guitardude2508 I couldn't agree more that Neal is one of the most under rated guitarists ever. I've been a fan of his from Day One. Neal is the God of guitar players!!!!

  • omg!! i love this :) just listen to it, close your eyes and let it take you to a world beyond our own.....:)

  • this and "I can't make you love me" are my favorite songs by him!!!!!!

  • Neal and Carlos (Santana) share a kindred beginning. Both have been blessed with a talent that many guitarists would want but so few posses.

  • trully overlooked as one of the legends

  • Really Beautyful!!!

    from Thailand

  • Schon's album is amazing! He plays so fluently and with feeling. The photos are amazing and go along with this music....the photos give more of an atmospheric feel to Schon's instrumental piece :)

  • Why is it that if I go to school and talk about Neal everyones like who is that, but I talk about Van Halen and everyones knows who i'm talking about? Personally Neals much more talented than other guitarists.

  • @Newbell2 That is easy to answer. Neal never got the press the others got partly do to the type of music Journey plays. He undoubtedly is one of the best.

  • 2:10 - 3:50 is absolutely epic!!!

  • To think, from someone out of Journey...

I mean, when all of the band members parted and did their solo stuff, they would have an obviously different sound from the usual "Journey sound." And from Neal, I expected to hear something a bit more aggressive, edgier rock, perhaps similar Journey's very early material...

So to listen to this pretty little masterpiece, entirely opposite of my expectation, just blew me away. :P

  • if you close your eyes during this song, you'll hear a choir! it's incredible!

  • que bella melodiaaaaaaaaaa!.............

  • I love Neal

  • It's almost as if you can tell who the guitarist is whenever you hear Neal Schon by chance. He has that certain "something" that always shows that "this is Neal Schon playing".

  • fuckin' genius

  • Amazing Slide show along with One Hell Of a Guitarest! My Fav anyway...

  • Onelightburning Do you made that video? Neal Schon is asking who made it and wants to know..Go to his FB site and let him know who made the video..Thanks, Beverly (rosemarieblue1)

  • Neal Schon has the BIGGEST influence on my guitar playing. The best guitarist to live. His music has thought and meaning behind it,unlike these freakin death metal CRAP!!!!LOVE the Master.

  • AMEN! Have been Follwing Him For 35 yrs Srong, And not about to Jump off the Band Wagon Ever! SCHON On To INFINITY!

  • This is one of my fav Schon songs along with his kick-ass cover of "I Can't Make You Love Me." Man that song is good...

  • I am so pleased to see so many people coming to realize what a musical genius this man is. I found this EP (Beyond The Thunder) 14 years ago and it has and always will remain my favorite of all time. A lot of folks also don't realize that Jonathan Cain, Journey's keyboardist and composer of most of their big hits is Neil's collaborator and producer on this EP.

  • Neal just has that signature Journey sound. There's just no mistaking that it's him.

  • What a great CD. Gotta go out and buy it now. Hope it's still available.

  • Amazon has it. You may not be able to find it in a record store.

  • i will never get tired of this song or album. also, a VERY nice job with the video.

  • Thomas Blug like

  • Beyond The Thunder is my favorite album of all-time. the Joshua Tree & Master of Puppets be damned!

  • so true. and i'm all the more with you because you threw two truly great albums under the "beyond the thunder" bus. huzzah.

  • very sweet guiter.

  • the effects on some of these pictures are a little odd but the music is awesome and thats all that really matters :D

  • Beyond the Thunder is simply a masterpiece, and in my opinion, one of the greatest albums of all. Vocal or not.

  • I've only listen to this song twice, and I'm already in love with it!

    Amazing song!

  • Neal Schon's tone is amazing

  • hello..... the song Midnight Express of the neal schoon.... downn please

  • hello..... the song Midnight Express .... downn please

  • i love the album this is off - i listen to it all the time - send me an angel is at a play count of 669 on my itunes! :D

  • Sweet!

  • Great slideshow OneLightBurning! I do agree that Send Me An Angel is one of the best off that solo album...Neal Schon's soaring guitars just sort of take you away- ya feel what I mean?...

  • Happy 55th Birthday Neal! (2/27/1954)

    BTSF

  • There really isn't a bad song on the album. His later solo stuff never measured up to "Beyond the Thunder".

  • Great song. Another great one is " A Prayer for Peace" which I actually played at my wedding instead of a speech.

If you like this music try one of the best ever:

    Camel's ICE

  • Here`s another fine example from "Beyond The Thunder". I agree with Schon2112 on this one. Excellent slide show as well. Awesome!

  • This is a really nice song(instrumental) and pics match it perfectly too. I really like the guitar work in this one. it`s so soothing.

All in all, a nice video to watch.

  • Does anyone know where to get the backing track for this song? I need it badly.

  • he amazing not only can he play great but he writes great songs to go with it

  • Simply Beautiful, like all of his music, thanks for the posting, when I am down I watch this and It Puts me in a Good mood..Thanks Neal..And OnelightBurning for a great slide show and song. One of my Favs...

  • I love his album . . . I bought it 10 years ago and am loving it still... He's the best!

  • Neal Keeps Proving that he is one of the greatest guitar players in the world

  • The whole cd is awesome!
