Do you notice that when your in a group of people mostly it's a guy thing I guess, but when someone finds out you are a Marine they begin to tell you that they were in the army or air force or navy that there branch is just as good as the Marines.They always compare themselves to us, but being a Marine there is nobody better so when I'm asked what can I say ( I AM A UNITED STATES MARINE AND CAN BE COMPARED TO NOBODY DAMN IT SO SHUT UP AND SIT DOWN ) WOW is that M14's I see lower case for them

OMG! Me too dude I swear to God. I've already spoken to one of the recons and he's a sniper. He told me the entire procedure of it. He said to come out as an expert on graduation day and stay super-fit at all times. They have a separate school for recons. You have to participate in order to become one. And they told me that the passing rate is about 2% to 3% for recons.

I've used a Desert Eagle. The accuracy just comes with practice. But i never got the chance to try a rifle. There has to be a major difference with the aiming. Good luck man!

Yes, in Vietnam they indirectly succeeded because after the Vietnam War Vietnam became mainly capitalistic so they succeeded in stopping communism. Somalia and Afghanistan are still on-going missions, and what they do over there is absolutely necessary.

You can serve, Seek out Marine Charities in your town or city. Toys for Tots, Marine Corps League, Marine Excutive Association, Wounded Warrior Project. ETC...Greet Us at the Airport when we return. Visit Injured Marines in the hospital and when they return home. Even better you could hire a Former Marine they make Great Employees. And most importantly, FLY THE AMERICAN FLAG!!

I only point it out because it is an important distinction to Marines.

It is a point of distinction between the services. Air Force/Army/Navy all have Basic. The Marine Corps, which is always trying to establish itself as the 'best' service, calls it boot camp to distinguish Marine Corps initial training from other initial training.

By the way it's Parris Island. I'm from Cola SC. According to my son you are a "boot" until you have done your first deployment or tour. He is going on his 1st tour 3/15/09 to Iraq. I'm always trying to learn their terms and you are right it is different from the other services. Just like you don't call a Marine a soldier. It is a slap in the face for them.
