  • Gerard Butler and Ramin are THE best Phantoms ever!

  • XxStar2344xX: Nicely edited video. But please give credit in your summary to Ramin Karimloo, the man who OWNS this song and will forever be identified by it.

  • so you used the video for no one would listen but the song till i hear you sing? nice

  • good

  • I respect Crawford fans and I love him too, but Gerri will always be the Phantom to me. He gave the phantom a heart and soul that no one else did for me.

  • I respect Crawford fans and I love him too, but Gerri will always be the Phantom to me.

  • I hated micheal Crawford

  • THE BEST LOVE STORY FOREVER!

  • Thank you very nice,,,,,,Rosalye delone,,,,

  • This such a fabulous song which I would love to hear Midge Ure sing on Popstar to Opera Star.

  • This song is so sad! Almost as sad as No one Would Listen!

  • I'd like to see Michael Crawford do it. He's best Phantom ever.

  • @inlovewithKStewart22 Gezzer is the best Phantom ever actually! :P

  • @Loveneverdies99 No, Michael Crawford is!

  • I just did a cover of this song on my profile. Grant it, I'm no Ramin Karimloo - but I do sing my heart out and I'd love it if my cover got some listens. So, stop by and check it out! Thanks in advance for any listens.

  • @firsttenor76 I actually Just did this for my collage open mic yesterday. I admit, I did well, but I know for a fact I ain't no Ramin Karimloo or Michael Crawford. I'm better than Gerard Butler though. I love Gerard Butler as Phantom, but he is not best. At least I can hold a straight note and I can get onkey. He was off quite a few times.

  • Great job putting these two together. I'm glad somebody did.

  • THE REAL TRUE ANGEL OF MUSIC!!!!!

  • where are the scenes where the Phantom (Gerard Butler) singing alone?

  • @krowera93 from the special 2-disc dvd edition of the movie. The song is called "No One Would Listen"

  • @DarthxErik ok thanks c;

  • @tiadawn100 He's been playing the Phantom for a long wile, my friend. Since 2003.

  • @tiadawn100 Gerard's voice is good but I still adore Ramin Karimloo. He's not new per se he has been playing the Phantom for some time, he is in the movie.

  • Am I the only person here who thinks Gerald Butler is one of the worse ever Phantoms? You just have to listen to this version to hear the passion, not to mention much better voice!

  • @MsRosiecakes

I disagree. I really enjoyed his performance.

  • @MsRosiecakes We can't really blame him, blame AWL. He casted him. If anything at least he tried, he did put some emotion into his voice, unlike Emmy Rossum . Anyway, I would of loved to see Ramin Karimloo as the Phantom in this movie it would have made it amazing. They went for looks over talent, I think they forgot that the Phantom is ment to be ugly and that millions of people have went to the play to see an ugly man. So why not make him hot in the movie; no one will notice.

  • lnd? O.o really?

    i love this song(:

    and poto ftw! ^-^

but lnd LACKS SOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH PLOT. it makes like nooooo sense XD

  • Oh yeah and sequal came out but only now on Broadway. Love Never Dies.

  • So good. This song is just gorgeous and Gerard Butler is so sexy. This video is so well made. :) Thank you so much.

  • has anyone noticed that it'll be really hard to make love never dies as the sequel to the 2004 movie, since the movie ends with christine's death?

  • @completelossofwords christine dies many many years later. this play is set 10 years later after she leaves the opera house.

  • @tabithakn1 They messed it all up, but the musical is still fantastic. I've seen it and if you don't attack every little detail that differs from Phantom it is just amazing.

  • dammit i wanna see the sequel on the big screen with gerard butler!!! seriously!

  • @LadyMetal0 Me 2.I hope he finds a woman who loves him enough to marry him like Christine didn't

  • How can they make a Movie sequel? I POTO Christine died when she was 60 some Years old and happy married to her Husband. In LND she died jung and her Hubby was a Gambler and Jerk.In POTO Madame Giri was caring and nice in LND she is a total B#@%$ an all for the Money.Meg was a sweet little Girl who in LND grows up to be a Hooker and Murderer. The Music is great the Story makes no sence to me.BUT if the do make a Movie I want Gerard Butler back and Emmy Rossum and everyone else.

  • really want there to be another fillmm although LND in the theatre is amazinng

  • luv this song so much

  • if they do a film of love never dies, it'll be logical to cast Gerard as the Phantom

A - he was Phantom in the first movie

B - Ramin can't be the Phantom in the second film because he played Christine's father in the first film so that would make no sense :P

but Ramin is a legend :) as is Gerard

  • Hey is the Phantom's name Erik? lol I didn't know he had a name :P I thought he was just reffered to as 'The Phantom' :P

  • @EngelTess123

Yes, the Phantom's name is Erik. Only a select few call him that though.

  • Comment removed

  • LND was recommended to me. I can just say that this Ramin guy has an AMAZING voice. I really hope that they will keep Gerard Butler and the rest of the original film cast.

  • i love this song to death! ive listened to it like 15 times today. good job! but the scene with just the phantom in this video doesn't happen in the movie? what is it?

  • Gerard Butler is too "Sexy" for the role of phantom, same with Ramin, they are too young and good looking

i find it funny Ramin is younger than Crawford was when he was phantom, yet he is supposed to be older....

  • just read the reviews and agree put the lovely Gerard Butler in the title role if there is a fi;m which there SHOULD BE !!! ameecurry

  • again gorgeous music Lloyd Webber the genius, this is fabulous. What else can this mando?? smeecurry

  • i hope "Love Never Dies" will become a movie with the same cast! i love the movie and hoped for a 2nd and there it came :D

  • I don't know why, but this seems closer to a Sondheim song than a Weber song...

  • I almost cried the first time I heard this song, but it took your video to really make the tears flow. Thank you so much :)

  • haha i really like emmy rossum (sp?) as christine.....gerald buttlers pretty good i dont c y evry1 hates him...n e ways....good vid!!

  • so sweet!!! love it!!!

  • I hate youtube sometimes, because they wouldn;t let me put "You Love this video" and I have to go with like.

  • @abbyrocks100 the clips were from the special featurette song in specail features I forgot the name though

  • i really love the phantom and if they dont use the cast from the 2004 version i will die

  • Ok, if GB's looks trump any criticism of his vocal skills, check out a guy who looks a lot like GB and CAN SING! He a huge B'way star, Raul Esparza, who would have made a fabulous screen Phantom. If only......

  • @audiesgirl Oh, but Gerard Butler did an awesome job of singing the part of Erik.

He added a feel that Erik was a twisted mind whose ideals of right and wrong were defined by his own needs.

His singing added a tone of cold calculation, a strong sexuality and emotions he could hardly control.

In short, Gerard Butler added a new element of acting that I have never heard before to the art of singing.

  • @audiesgirl Also, I just HAVE!! to poke at the fact that a guy named Raul took on the role of the Phantom.... :P

  • They need to make one with Gerard Butler and Emmy Rossum! that would be the best!

  • I love the Song.

  • Thanks for dubbing a decent voice! I was ready to get out the cotton balls to stop my bleeding ears if I had to listen to GB murder this lovely song.

  • @audiesgirl You insist.......but at least you have sense of humor!

  • this was good but where did you get the clips that you used for the phantom i do not remember seeing that in the movie

  • Awesome!

  • they should deffo do a sequel with Gerry and Emmy!!! NO question! please!!! =)

  • brilliant video Xxstar2344xX great synchronization and everything.

  • I can't accept the sequel's explanation of Gustave's conception: Christine goes back to the Phantom after the final lair scene. I wish they'd slowed down the ending to suggest the Phantom consummated his seduction of and mock wedding to Christine before Raoul shows up to ruin the moment. That would be more believable. Also, the sequel needs a song for Raoul expresing his doubts as to Gustave's parentage to explain his falling into the bottle.

  • This is awesome!

(Though it's funny, cuz he's singing 'No one would listen' in the clip but we're hearing 'Til I Hear You Sing') :)

  • Where did you get the clips f him in his lair? There are some I've never seen before!

  • @FanStoryVideoStudios Their from a deleated scene its on youtube. Its called No one would listen *watched it dozen of times*.Its a beutiful song and sad to.

  • @optimusprime050995 I've seen some of them, I love that song, but I've not seen the one where he's by his desk with the rose.

  • @FanStoryVideoStudios Yeah its part of the orignal video.

  • @optimusprime050995 Oh, okay

  • @FanStoryVideoStudios Yeah sorry if i seem like a know it all ^^".

  • I don't think Ramin can play Phantom if there was a new movie because he already played Christine's father in this movie. But I too want the same actors just once more. lol

  • i dont remember him doing that in the movie..... im confused

  • I like the filter you used over the Phantom's parts. Good job matching clips with lyrics. Ramin Karimloo's voice is so awesome that I can stop caring that the lyrics are terrible. *sigh*

  • I liked the film but GB was too young for the part. The Phantom has to be way older than Raoul and Christine to be as pathetic as he is, living decades alone and loveless. I can't believe the GB character is so deprived.

  • @audiesgirl Well, isn't he supposed to be about the same age as Madame Giry? 40-ish? Then he's been living under the Opera house for about 30 years, I'd say that's a very long time to be alone and unloved, even though the original character is supposed to be older.

  • I love this Song.

  • The clips go so well with the song, which I also love :) brilliant work! what programme did you use to get the clips? I love GB as Phantom, and also hope they make love never dies dvd casting Gerry as the phantom once more :D

  • The clips go so well with the song, which I also love :) brilliant work! what programme did you use to get the clips?

  • i love it 5/5

  • GB will always be my phantom lol, just love him...however Ramin is amazing... i really want them to make another movie of love never dies with Gerry and Emmy :)

  • mine too, if this story is set 10 years after the original, it will have to be another 5 years till they make the movie, gerry will be in his 40's, emmy will be in her 20's,would make sense, i hope it will happen:)

  • @LOVxxE Agree completely!!! I really hope so too. Gerry is MY Phantom forever....:)

  • @MrsJosephMerrick

difference is that this guy can sing :)

But actually, he looked a lot like gerard butler on the show

  • @missCollie I like Ramins singing, hes very good...And if youve really seen the show I am very jealous, because Id really like to it - even if to satisfy my curiosity and make up my own mind about it!

  • @LOVxxE

yessss!!! they HAVE TO USE GERARD AND EMMY!!! THEY HAVE TO!!!

    ESPECHALY GERARD!!!

  • Thank you - you connected the new beautiful voice to true Phantom's face...Gerard Butler that is...i'd love him to do the sequel on big screen!

  • @margo3883 I liked that as well...I'm trying to imagine already Gerry singing this song - wonderful! The vid is very pretty to watch as well. :)

  • @MrsJosephMerrick Nice video and beautiful song.......but i would like to hear it from Gerry! He has so passionate and emotional voice!!!

  • @eugenie1967 Yes of course!!!I really wish and hope HE'LL sing it one day! He's got so much more passion and differing emotions in his voice! Ramins got a lovely voice, but he just doesnt convey the Phantoms deepest heart like Gerry! When I listen to Ramin in other songs he sounds more like ''raoul'', & also his accent is really irritating...Only Gerry for Phantom! Only he can truly act and be the Phantom through his voice!!

  • @eugenie1967 No, Butler CANT sing... purely cast for his looks

  • @Edwin030 General in a musical, they choose an actor for his voice!!! ALW had told in an interview that he wanted a different phantom, handsome and attractive, much more sensitive, with rock tone in his voice! He wanted to do something like a rock opera, something different from the old version! I love POTO 2004!!!!

  • @Edwin030

I know! Kinda sucked that Gerald couldn't sing. The posture and his looks were perfect.

  • @eugenie1967 omg i love to hear gerard butler sing this song

  • @AshleyLynn829 I must say, i didn't respect gerard's voice at all... While it was was they were technically looking for for the movie, he just didn't land it for me. not a big enough range

  • @unlivedlives I Think Its Awesome

  • Amazing video and song!!!

  • Beautiful!! XD

  • I would like to see the sequel with Gerard Butler and the same actors in the phantom of the Opera.....GB is the best phantom for me!

  • @eugenie1967

Michael Crawford and Emmy Rossum are best Phantom and Christine ever. GB was very good, but only like third best. He made multiple mistakes with his notes. Phantom is not supposed to be this sexy guy, he is supposed to be a monster of depravity.

  • @kayandmiguel211 I think ALW knew better than anybody when he chose GB!

In an interview ALW had said that he wanted to give another dimention to the phantom...showing us his sensitive side and he was looking for someone with rock tone in his voice. GB has rock tone and he was the best choice!!! Maybe he did some mistakes(i didn't understand them) but he put his whole soul in this movie! He was really crying when it was necessary ...he is a great actor!

  • @kayandmiguel211 I also like him as phantom not because he is attractive(ALW chose him, not me) but when he was singing he was changing his voice. In the Music of the Night his voice was soft, in the Point of No Return his voice was full of passion and desire, in the Down once More 1 was powerful and in the DOM 2 his voice was very sad! That's amazing for an untrained singer.... MC was singing nice with technique but without any emotion! All the songs were the same(no anger, no passion)!!!

  • id love to see this sequel aswell i want them to do another film to this still featuring the orignal cast from the movie :D

  • @eugenie1967

so would I, I think when they do the Musical like they did, that they would get the original leads to do the sequel, or it wouldn't be the same.....also, they need to follow the datelines in it, and the fact, they never slept with each other.........he states, his face has kept him from enjoying the joys of the flesh.........and her date of death is 1917 on the tombstone..........

  • @eugenie1967 i totally agree!

  • I love seeing this, a much better scene for this song than the stage version i saw last night of Love Never Dies. Ramin is marvellous, but scenery a bit too bare for true atmosphere.

Gerard Butler' phantom was the most unforgettable image, Joel was a genius.

    Rose

  • -pout-

I happen to be totally psyched for the sequel. And, as always, I love the video, too.

  • This sequel is an abomination. Not only does it deny the Phantom his redemption that he gains in the final scene of the original, therefore making him an unscrupulous psychopathic serial killer with no remorse, but it also TURNS THE PHANTOM INTO A RAPIST. Christine sings this to the Phantom at the end of Act 1 of LOVE NEVER DIES:

    "Once upon another time

You went off and left me alone

But that's not all you did

You left me with a son."

    Horrendous lyrics and desecrated characters.

    Say no.

  • Despite what all these LOSERS who watch just to trash you say... I think this is a very well edited video, and I am quite excited for the rest of the album. People keep saying that this show and video are terrible and the Phantom is being a wuss, but he was the same kind of person in the original. I have two different Phantoms in my mind. The book Phantom, and the Show Phantom. I don't think of them in the same way. I really appreciate this video. Keep up the good work!

  • I wish Gerard Butler actually sang this well.

  • he would have sang this well. But more in a rock tune than as Ramin has put it. I think it would be great for another movie don't you?

  • You're really going to hate me after I say this. I saw the show on Broadway with Hugh Panaro (who sounds eerily like Ramin) an he moved me to tears. Two days later, I saw the movie. Now, I think Gerard Butler is a talented actor, but he was the wrong choice for the phantom. Weber made a mistake casting him. If you want to hear him sing WELL, watch P.S. I Love You where he sings songs by The Pogues and Mundy. I love him singing Galway Girl.

  • They should pick a different video to edit then! And even in that regard it fails...Phantom's supposed to be a dark story, not something as obnoxiously bright as this.
