Very interesting topic. I completely that Christmas has no roots according to bible and it there could be a linkage between christmas and appearence of the Anti-Christ. That being said when Jesus will return he will condem this holiday and kill the Anti-Christ. At least this according to several holy books references. I thought the giving presents was from...i forget roman or greek wealthy men. They would choose to have a meeting/party, where they would give eachother presents and have lol gay sex. Regardless of where all the aspect of American Christmas came from, the modern protestant church has a lot of them defined as symbolic representations of something (e.g. Evergreen Tree = Everlasting Life; Gifts to multiple people = God's gift of his son to everyone). Of course, the main celebration for Christian is the birth of Jesus, even though Luke puts his birth (relative to other events) around September IIRC.

the evergreen tree was symbolic of NIMROD, the might one who rebelled against god and led so many astray with the Mystery Religions of Babylon. Him and wife wife created the basis of all idolatrous religions in the world ie Catholicism, Islam, Hinduism.. We cannot take ancient pagan practices and change the meaning and deem them Christian.

There is nothing Biblical about Christmas at all; in fact it condemns the practice. Read Jeremiah 1. God bless.

@3VOLution3NO Putting a tree in my living room won't turn me into a pagan. My point is that I don't see why it matters (in a religious sense) how those symbols were used several hundred years ago when we're using them for a different purpose today. There's nothing wrong with knowing the history of those items, but I disagree that those symbols are forever contaminated because a pagan worshipped over them long ago.

@3VOLution3NO Jeremiah was talking about literal idols in those first verses. A Christmas tree isn't an idol; at least not to me. I don't bow down to it or pray to it. I can understand how symbols can eventually become idols to people. As long as they're regarded as only symbols of something, I don't have a problem with it. You can make the decision to use those symbols on your own, and I don't see it as sinning one way or the other.
