  • It depends ... on what type of service ....

    のぞみ (Nozomi) ..... 16 両 (16 cars)

    ひかり (Hikari) ........ 16 両 (16 cars)

    ひかりレールスター (Hikari RailStar) ... 8 両 (8 cars FIXED)

    こだま (Kodama) .... 4,6,8,16 cars

For the video above, it should be 16 cars

  • how do people type in Japanese characters on their comp...does it involve changing scripts for their browser, or is there a plugin or something?

  • Do a search for "Microsoft IME" and you'll see one way of doing it. That's what I use, though I don't know much Japanese.

  • you download a japanese ime from the microsoft website

  • I could barely count the train cause it was going so fast so I counted those rectangular lights instead. I'm guessing there's one on each train.

I also couldn't see the last part but I'll say either

    ju-ichu (eleven) or ju-ni (twelve).

    By the way...

    Those platforms are sooo clean!!

Not like here in NYC where some people are filthy.

Japan>NYC in cleanliness and almost everything else.

  • I typed all that out below just to find out I'm wrong. Dang you Wikipedia. I thought Nihongo didn't use question marks at all, but it turns out its just not always required. Well at least i learned something new today. Even if it was just correcting an error. :P

    ______________

I can only spot an error, and that is in two of the sentences. The sentences with the question marks were suppose to end in a period. ( the circle things, Idk the official name) But it did end in ka like it was suppose to.

  • ju itchi?

  • how fast can that thing go? i bet its more enviro-friendly than cars

  • Ju Ichi!!!

    @bugg333

I think approximately 200mph... I love traveling on Shinkansen instead of the overnight bus trip..

  • 300 kilometers (186 miles) per hour. When they hit 300 they tell you over the speakers. It is awesome!!! You can actually tell the difference in speed coz you can barely see what is outside!!! I have been on one from Tokyo to Kyoto and Tokyo to Osaka. It is awesome!!!

  • I think jyu

  • but eveb tho its spelled jyo we just pronounce it as Ju.. or JEW. lol

  • Juu-ichi

  • 0_0 Geh! It almost seemed as if it'd go on forever, lol

  • Umm, cool. But I'm still learning kana...

  • romaji's fine for today!

  • I was trying to say I didn't understand the Kanji in your video...I don't understand how that relates to romanji...

  • Ah, OK. Don't worry about that, the Japanese messages are the homework for the Japanese students learning English!

  • ju ichi
