This is a great item, it is not up to the standard of the Toynami version, which is not matted but dark, dark black but you will shell out 2k for that one. This one will cost you 629 at Sideshow or a little less at other retailers like BBTS. It is however, a bit bigger than the Toynami version, but not by much. Just went up for pre-order at Sideshow and BBTS for those that want to know. Of course, the advantage at SSC is FLEX where you can spread the payments over 10 months.
Will always love this design (don't care for Nolan's version) & would love to buy this for my Hot Toys 1989 Batman, but... Where the heck will I put it! this needs a garage space, guess my 1:18 die-cast version will have to suffice.
I preordered both Hot Toys figures both Batman and Joker '89, BUT I don't get the Batmobile. Manufacturer Toy Biz did a pretty good job with it back in 1989 and it was not as big. This Hot Toys version is so large, where the hell are you supposed to put the thing, let alone store it afterwards. Waste of money and space!
I will jump on this baby when it comes out for sure! Going to be another big box! I didn't take notice of the first one and personally this one is more better and classy then the Dark Knights one. Does this car really fit Batman and you can actually sit him there? You got any ideas when this batmobile is coming out? @Skeletonwitharaygun Yeah, I doubt it will. The relaunch of the Tumble cost $469. So I guess it will cost roughly the same. I think stef2130 was getting it confused with the Tumbler from Tamyia which cost $1,999
I am ultimately lost for words I mean why couldn't they make the toybiz or the kenner versions like this? SMH they really need to recycle back in time and remake this for the smaller figures like the kenner 1990 or toybiz action figures that I have.

It's different for the Iron Monger cause that has already been revealed. I hope it's a new Marvel figure instead of a reissue. Sick classic looking batmobile, if the preorder price is in the $400-$500 range, i will try hard to get this. The Tumbler's are just too damn high now for me, the batpod's as well.
If they make it "light up", dash panel if possible, head lights, brake lights, and has the engine sound from the movie and all work with a hidden push on/off button, then THAT will make it perfect, indeed, thums up if you so agree.

You clicked the wrong reply button, I'm an expert on the 89' Batmobiles and I know what I'm talking about. No Batmobile was ever painted Gloss and used on screen. The original 89's were Satin Black with Pearl (colour changing) paint mixed in so that it would shift colours. It also had some very colourful metallic highlights, so yes Hot Toys BASICALLY know what they are doing, but in some ways it is lacking, such as the turbine..which was anodized grey on the original car.
@bttfspencer This just in from Hot Toys! They have read this comment, got really butt-hurt about their product, and scrapped the thing to start over from scratch! Not only will the new Batmobile live up to the color standards of the original, but it will also come with voice recognition software, so when you say, "Shields up", Anton Furst will come down from the heavens and hand paint into reality the Batmobile shields!

If they we're to release the '89 Batman and batmobile together, they probally would have to scale down the price to something like $450-$500, but releasing them separately they could sell the Batmobile for like $400-$450 alone, and the Batman for $200 plus most likely.So instead of $500 total, you're probally looking at around $600-$650 total for these sold separately. However it would have been really cool if hot Toys sold them together.

@delfra70 well the batmobile and the DX 89 Joker will most likely come out end of this year or the beginning of the next year. But dont be surprised if it takes longer. As for 89 Batman a prototype will be shown at Anicon which I think is in 3 days along with Batman DX (Batman 89), Metal Gear Solid, new Mark I, Samurai Predator, Marvel figure (Redskull) and Bruce Lee with a full rubber body. @bttfspencer This just in from Hot Toys! They have read this comment, got really butt-hurt about their product, and scrapped the thing to start over from scratch! Not only will the new Batmobile live up to the color standards of the original, but it will also come with voice recognition software, so when you say, "Shields up", Anton Furst will come down from the heavens and hand paint into reality the Batmobile shields!
Expect the new model and Anton Furst in the end of the first third of 2012

If they we're to release the '89 Batman and batmobile together, they probally would have to scale down the price to something like $450-$500, but releasing them separately they could sell the Batmobile for like $400-$450 alone, and the Batman for $200 plus most likely.So instead of $500 total, you're probally looking at around $600-$650 total for these sold separately. However it would have been really cool if hot Toys sold them together.

@delfra70 LOL I did not mean that :-P I meant why did they not release batman (separate) so he and go with the bat-mobile instead of releasing the Bat-mobile and the Joker at the same time. It makes more since cause you are likely to buy the Bat-mobile and Batman to go with it instead of buying the joker the same time you purchase the Bat-mobile.

@delfra70 well the batmobile and the DX 89 Joker will most likely come out end of this year or the beginning of the next year. But dont be surprised if it takes longer. As for 89 Batman a prototype will be shown at Anicon which I think is in 3 days along with Batman DX (Batman 89), Metal Gear Solid, new Mark I, Samurai Predator, Marvel figure (Redskull) and Bruce Lee with a full rubber body. I hope the '89 Batman figures are released next year, that will give me time to regroup,recoup and recover from so much heat coming out in the next several months. I think the Mark 1 you're talking about is the upcoming Iron Monger, and Bruce Lee with a full rubber body is very interesting, i heard Hot Toys will be making a Game Of Death bruce.
