@Mac5071 what, exactly, are these little features that PC can't get? i have a mac, and i've found that anything i do on my mac i can do just as easily on my PC, with the difference being that my PC can game much better than my mac can. the only thing i've found so far that pc can't do is expose, and even then there are programs that emulate expose. also, macs can get viruses, no discussion.

@gitghetto i life for example has many "little usefull features" And it's 10 times harder to get one of 6 viruses on m mac where you have to download software to attempt to protect your pc from hundreds of viruses and don't say that macs don't get viruses because no one uses them because that's not true.

@Mac5071 iLife doesn't have any "useful little features" that microsoft office doesn't have. it is harder to get a virus on a mac, i'll admit that. but the reason you stated is the exact reason why macs don't have viruses, it's because if you write a virus, you want to affect the largest amount of people possible, which is windows. nobody cares enough to attack people who use mac, because they're only going to affect 5% of the 'computer population' (for lack of a better term).

I've been using PCs my whole life and hate the stupid retail trialware, frequent errors and BSODs. I recently learned how to use Snow Leopard and to me it's a whole lot simpler and better. It may not be for others; please DO NOT start a freakin flamewar.

@videodude1298 i'm saying this not in the interest of starting a flamewar, but the largest reason behind those frequent errors and BSODs is not windows, but instead third party software. the third party software is poorly developed, and when it runs into an error that it can't handle, it crashes itself, or in some worse cases (depending on it's error) it could cause a BSOD. it has nothing to do with windows unless you messed with the kernel.

I feel sorry for you, I really do. You could get the equivalent of ilife on a linux or windows system. Macs don't have any third party software whatsoever, which makes both of the others too. I do respect Apple though, they've created an easier interface than windows xp, but theres not nearly as much software.

I use my P.C to work with music, and my friend (a media tech) uses his to edit and manipulate film. The clincher for me was that my custom build was a measly 600 quid for a stonking beast, and when it starts to get slow upgrades are not only cheap, but actually possible. Macs are fashion statements, and fyi its also possible to boot PC's with Mac OS these days anyway.

PCs do everything Mac's can: Music (Media player, Winamp, Real Player), Movies(Media Player, BS player, VLC, Winmedia), Editing (Adobe Premier and Adobe After Effects), images (Photoshop, Illustrator,) 3d modeling (Maya, 3d Max, Lightwave,) Podcast (http://www.windowsdevcenter.c­om/pub/a/windows/2005/04/05/cr­eate_podcasts_with_pc.html) AND they play games. You would b happy to know that half life does run on macs among every other windows game if you install bootcamp on a mac you get both windows or mac setting to choose from at startup therefore you are eligable to play normal windows / pc games

yeah, makes little sense... that's Apple marketing for you. I like using a Mac, they were nice to use at school. They're too expensive though, and little advantage over PC. I think there's a bigger advantage over Windows, but I use Linux. Windows does have the gaming advantage though.
