Love it Love it Love it !!! I left my heart in Paris !!!!! I was there 2 weeks ago for one week holiday with my husband and we both love the illumination of the Eiffel Tower. It's such an amasing place and the people are so nice. We are going back there again next year. Can't wait !!!!
The extreme "ecologist" attitude of France with no fireworks just disappointed the spectators. This message joined the one with the low Christmas lighting of the city. Better stop producing so much nuclear energy that trashes other poor countries and stop using the electrical energy for heating. In matter of electrical efficiency that's where you pollute, not the fireworks and Christmas lights that would have brought funds from tourism...
@aotearoa20 This year were they also going for something different? I didn't raise the problem of affordability just the one of publicity that "France is eco"...And they think of the planet unlike the others.I was saying that the country pollutes massively but brand itself as an eco one...and that's just dust in the wind. They like to brag about themselves and their accomplishments but to hide the truth. The amount of visitors is also a result of their bragging.
@aotearoa20 Nuclear pollution is the most dangerous one.The small cars preference isn't linked directly to pollution. The French like everything small (like the restaurants, homes and cars).Look of what is the average apartment space in m2 for a person in Germany.Look at the other cars manufacturers they didn't produce only small cars before the eco fever came. It's a mater of taste.I visited and worked a lot in Paris(tomorrow I'm going for a week there). So please, don't explain how Paris looks.
@aotearoa20 And again I wasn't referring to the affordability nor the most visited city of the world. It definitely has its pluses.I was referring to the fireworks and the eco publicity that its branding for the wrong reasons. For the second year now, on the new years eve Paris wasn't on the same map as other cites.Just saying that lack of fireworks or city lights isn't a pollution mater but a political publicity.Do some research and calculate the amount of pollution of led lights and fireworks.
@jcrrex How ever I still dont agree that france is a culture that polutes a lot !
when you look at other cultures... It's far from true !
I myself am from new zealand a tiny island in the pacific with a very small population that polutes more then france if you look at a french citizen and a new zealander we are far in front
French music is horrific

@jcrrex mmm no the reason france is the most visited country in the world is because of world war 1 &2
europeans and french people buy small cars that dont polute a lot compare to other cultures like usa, canada, australia, new zealand ..Ect.
and you have to admite paris Is one of the most beautiful city's in the world,
and euh second reason paris is the most visited city in the world
1 very good restaurants
2 cafes everywhere for a good warm ambuance
3 high quality hotels
4 history
5beautiful

@jcrrex Ok now we agree.
I do agree that it's a shame they dont even do fireworks and that nuclear polution is one of the worst in the world.
But when nuclear power was made in like the 60's or w.e I'm not a nuclear expert, back then it seemed like a revolution 1# for the defense it meant
2# for the amount of electricity it made
but in 2010 I perfectly agree that nuclear power should be disarmed for now and for ever..
when you know countrys like south korea have the nuclear bomb its scary

we buy big cars
with huge motors that polute a lot
most familly's have two to THREE cars.
even in the poor parts.
and mostly all usa big v8's or v12's ect..Ect..
