The Patriots didn't choke, they highly under-estimated the Giants chances. The Giants had a great defense that year and the QB finally found his potential. That doesn't mention the running game.
The reason they don't give the Giants credit is because of their record. What those people don't realize is the Giants had all the pieces except a weak QB, but Manning put it together by the end of the year and they peaked at the right time.

There are a few players overall who do take enhancer and steroids but for the most part the game got bigger and faster. 07 Patriots are much better than the 72 Phins. If the Patriots played the giants 10 times I believe the Patriots would win 8 times. I am not putting the Giants down they were the better team that day. You should enjoy watching a team this good instead of hating on them, but when your team is garbage it is hard to do that.Go Patriots, Your in trouble when the MVP is Back!!!

Mercury Morris took this personally because he uses the 72 Dolphins unbeatean season as his main source of income where he makes public appearences on behalf of that team. CNBC's Darren Rovell said Mercury would have lost around $200,000 worth of income through speaking engagements and memoribilia from the 72 team if the Patriots went 19-0. His livlihood was at stake. Some other 72 Dolphins like Jim Mandarich and Nick Bouniconti rooted for the Patriots to go 19-0.

It was called "situation substitution." He split the load with Csonka and Kiick. With Morris and Csonka, you had both an inside and outside running threat. Csonka and Kiick had both the run and passing threat, and Kiick and Morris provided the best pass receiving combination, though the Dolphins averaged about 16 passes per game.
