Hey my question is the same dgripper05...I am a complete beginner in fighting games and my friends just got me into playing SSSFIV..My main characters are Dudley and Dhasilm..I am not bad with the regular 360 controller but I think its time for an upgrade. Would you recommend a pad or a fight stick.

Oh yea i am into roll characters and not really found of the whole charge thing.sorry for being so long.

I'll always recommend an arcade stick. But if your a pad only player, this pad is definitely better than the standard XBOX 360 controller.

lol pad is made for guys who wanted to spam quarter cercle and random push all buttons / for the guys who wanted to play skill and straight timing for links for example....u have to buy an arcade stick with sanwa parts.... question? ask me...

Sure, It's much easier to pull off moves and with the six face buttons you wont have to fumble around with the regular control pad triggers.

Eh, I don't even have a console, and I play this game on my PC. I have a PS2 controller copy as my joypad, and there isn't a thing in SF4 that I can't do (I mean the special and ex moves)...

Nice looking Fightpad, though.

i have been silently protesting by not buying SF4 because the ps3 and 360 D-pads suck so bad. but now i realized that this controller exists. im going out and buying 2 tomorrow and i encourage any one else that has even the slighest degree of intrest in fighter to do like wise.

@ilovemaryam08 wow dude. the dpad on the xbox controller is perfect, but im more of an arcade person so i own 3 sticks for my system personally i wouldnt play it any other way but if it had to be dpad it would definitly be xbox stock cont.

Since I couldn't get my hands on a fightstick (at the time) I bought a fightpad. All I can say is that it's a piece of crap. The buttons felt okay and I could get used to how light it is, but the D-pad was terrible. It's feels like someone chopped off the nub of a regular analog stick. It worked okay for Shoto-type players but forget about using it for charge characters.

I think that the Fightpad definitly better then the normal ps3 controller, but when u play with charging characters the better choise is the Fightstick. I always pick ryu and i use this fightpad.

Street Fighter 4 Tournament Edition Arcade Fight Stick Should be used for Street Fighter 4 not some lame @ss Controller . If your a hard core Tournament players you can understand what Im saying =) But yes I would have to agree by saying the SF4 Controler is way better then useing the standard Xbox360 controler for sure . But still use a damn arcade stick lol

ok, sfIV is my first street fighter game. I got it for the 360 and i'm using the standard 360 wireless controller. Is it just me, or is it nearly impossible to pull off ultra combos? It takes me at least 10-15 tries to get Ryu's ultra. Will the fight pad work? oh, two more questions: can you assign the ultra combo to a button on the fightpad? also, how do you assign turbos to the RT and LT on this fightpad?

It is much easier to do specials with the fightpad. The shoulder buttons can have three buttons inputs assigned to them so instead of holding down all three punch or kick buttons to do an ultra you can just press one of the shoulder buttons after you do the thumb motion.

you can do that with the 360 controller as well. If you keep playing controller, pad or stick you will eventually be able to pull off the ultras easy. Give or take for guile's n vega's

With the shoulder button mapping replacing three button presses, sure why not. If your a better player than your opponent you'd probably still win with either a stick or a pad (a good pad). As for players on the same level, thats a tougher question. I don't think there is a clear cut answer and you would probably have to factor in what character they use and how easy/hard it is to pull of their moves.

Nope, you need two analog sticks for Halo 3 and most other first person shooters. This pad can only be used as one at a time (either left or right analog stick). But you can use it for a lot of arcade games and side scrollers.
