OLB on 3-4 NEED to cover. You can't game plan around that. If you have a 3-4 OLB that can't cover, you'll get exposed.

If the dude can accpetthe fact that he is a roll player now, I want him on the team. But I don't believe he can. I believe he'll be more of a distraction, which we don't need. Plus hes overpaid.

What the stat sheet doesn't show is how many times this guy fails to seal off the edge or let's a RB run around him as opposed to Spencer or Ware who have the speed to chase them out of bounds.

NEWSFLASH: we led the league in sacks last year and where did that get us? No where.

I haven't seen any special rush qualities in Spencer, definitely not on the level of Ellis. He does play the run and coverage a little better though...

I know they threw on 1st and 2nd down but playing on 1st and 2nd down out of your base D is different then playing nickel.When it's not a clearcut passing down,you still play the run 1st then & if it's not a run you try to get to the QB as opposed to on passing downs (in which Ellis was on the field, not Spencer) you pin your ears back and try to get the QB because you KNOW that the offense is going to pass it

You'll notice that a majority of every teams sacks come out of their nickel defense

I also think Spencer's a better pass rusher, of course I've got know actual proof of that, but I know what type of player he was in college, his type of skillset and how he looked when actually given the opportunity to play on passing downs.

I think Ellis played ahead of him last because they didn't want to bench him and hear him whine. Wade even admitted as much the other day.

We'll see though, but i've got no problems with the move...
