The Portal and Half-Life storyline is so intense and amazing! I wonder if they will finally connect the dots for us in episode 3 or will they make a few more games before combining the plots. Alyx and Freeman are going to the Borealis so more secrets will be uncovered!!!! This is just too awesome!

I don't think Chell will ever be in a half life game, and I don't think Gordon Freeman will ever be in a portal game. Other characters from each game, maybe. But I doubt that Chell and Gordon will ever meet directly.

These pre-recorded messages that also say "When humanity has been rebuilt" and all that are just automatic. The messages don't KNOW what actually happened, so to speak. Heck, it might just be something wrong with the control-center in the facility and Chell might not have been asleep any longer than a few years. Which would go well with the timeline of Half Life and Half Life 2.

Obviously in Half-Life you play Gordon Freeman, a theoretical physicist working for Black Mesa. In Portal you play as a test subject within an Aperture Science research facility; note that Portal 2 takes place many years after HL2:Ep2. This scene suggests that Black Mesa believe that Aperture cut corners safety-wise.

No the ship itself is not seen but you can see the dock which it was originally held in as well as a floaty ring with "BOREALIS" printed on it.

If you go there in Portal 2 you get an achievement called the missing experiment or something simular.
