The update on the website says:

"However, we have only dug a few inches into the soil. Investigative techniques are very different from archeological methods because I would have gone to the depth of two feet and excavated the entire length of the shaft, about twenty three feet. That way it would have been conclusive."

sounds exactly like what they did to Vendyl Jones and not digging deep enough!
