  • Gotta love Bro James!

  • love it

  • haha! ya'll boys from florida? love Juniper springs man. Silver Springs is where ts really at though.

  • No, not originally from Florida, but ran out the cold winter months there every winter. At the time this video was made, we were both traveling, "living in our socks", and playing music all over Florida. Ocala National Forest was a great place to hang out between festivals.

  • @catinnahat I hear that. I come from Sarasota, FL originally. But now spend most of my time "living in my socks" as you say, travelling round playing in The Cadillac Grainer String Band. We have some videos here on youtube as well.

    Really enjoyed the video too.

  • I took a look at your "Dixie Rag" video. Good energy there and nice rhythm playing the spoons. I also play the bones.

  • @catinnahat ahh, thankyou, yeah, most of our live videos have pretty bad sound quality. Yeah thats my friend on the spoons, I'm actually the fella on banjo rite behind her. Thanks for checking out one of our videos. I'm sure there's prolly one that sounds a little better but whatever.

    Thanks.

    Tyler James

  • ireland here, thanks for the tune, lovely stuff great setting, joe

  • lol this video was recorded just 3 days before i was born!

  • Oh man, this just made my day! A good, honest jam session right there. Thanks for sharing!

  • Sweet

  • That was some real honest music u guys played there. Could almost feel heat from the campfire

  • Soooo good to listen to! Thanks. I wish I could play like you. I play the violin, but my bow does not go as easy as yours. Your right hand is so perfect.

  • I know, it's amazing what the technology allows. I can sit here in Thornbury Australia with my fiddle and play along with you guys playing a song recorded years ago on the other side of the globe!. You guys are helping me get this tune down pat,so cheers for that!!

  • Thanks guys that was awesome and so real!!!!

  • Thanks for your comment.

Around that campfire in the forest, I could have never imagined that years later our tune would be presented on the internet and viewed in different parts of the world. The technology we have today really blows my mind whenever I think about it.

Glad you enjoyed the tune! :-)

  • Great music, love the style, so nice to hear folk music, I'm from Scotland and we love fiddle and any kind of folk stuff. Have you seen my hero Billy Connolloy at the Cobblestone Pub in Dublin? I'm told he uses clawhammer style like Mr. Carr, (I don't know much about banjos but I love the sound). Have you ever played any of the soundtack from 'The Outlaw Josey Wales'?

    All the best to you.

  • Great job, what's the tuning though? Having a go at playing along but sounds like a half step or thereabouts down from D...

  • We were not tuned to standard 440 pitch. I tuned the fiddle to wherever that banjo had been tuned to "by ear".

  • wish I could have been around that campfire. amazing

  • ive gotta go camping more often.. xD

    good job! love the sound

  • wow, real blue grass! I love blue grass...

  • actually the banjo player is playing clawhammer banjo, that's for old-time music, but still good job!

  • Love it!

  • fiddle and banjo 'round the camp fire. Now thats living!
