I have the same amp and i have every knob is turned high and it still sounds low...Wondering how do you turn the voulum up? for Crate GX-40C 40 watt amp??
@lovatofan4life I haven't used that amp as much as some of the others. But it sounds pretty loud to me. Also many pedals have their own gain knob, allowing you to boost the signal. Some pedals are just to boost the signal. Hope that helps!
Hehe! Yea, it is enough to give a person a flashback! It's also a little demystifying to see what makes the sound, to know it isn't some sort of magic leaving the tips of my fingers. But there are all kinds of ways to "play" a pedal. I like to think that some aspects of my approach is at least a little different than the usual person using them. If not new and original, what is the point? Well that's sorta my philosophy. Be well.
woah! you got a vast variety of effects pedal going on. and thnx for listing down what you got, i'm going to check 'em out since i'm trying to get back on the guitar.
That's the tip of the iceberg! I've got more pedals in boxes, that I drag out now and then. But because I only got into the effects pedal recently (the last 3-4 years), I haven't experimented with them that much. I will say that I have matured a little, having some experience now. I used to go for phase shifters, flangers, wah wah and other drastically altering pedal types. Nothing wrong with that, but I have become a little more subtle with experience. Be well.
I'm not exactly on here to brag about my gear, LOL! Although that may seem to be the case with some of my comments. I guess I'm just trying out a lot of different sounds to see if there are some that suit me better.
But if I were giving advice for someone who wanted to do similar, then I'd suggest that they try-out an assortment of pedals around the sounds they like from a guitar. And there are some combo pedals which give several effects bundled together. But those can be limiting, so...
...so I recommend that you try individual pedals until you find the ones that work with what you want to play.
I love echo! That is sort of my mainstay, it's on most all of my pieces. Some delay pedals give almost the same effect. But a good echo pedal is one I'd start with. Then there's phase shifting and flanging. They can be a lot of fun, but drastically changve the sound of the guitar, so it's sometimes difficult to control those. Then there are tone pedals, distortion, fuzz, etc...
...a nice fuzz pedal is the Electro-Harmonix Big Muff! But the Way Huge Swollen Pickle works well too. There are also expression, pitch shifting, volume level and wah pedals. These all work like pressing a gas pedal, more gas, more effect or sound. They can be very interesting too.
And finally there are several signal copying and, or deconstructing pedals. Haromonist and synth pedals fall into this category. Hope that helps! I need to make a separate video, heh!
i saw a Larry Graham´s video showing some of his pedals and they´re interesting
