You should go in 2012 instead. That year, a new Cars Land will be completed which will include a ride like the Test Track at Epcot.

the last time i went, the ferris wheel was almost finished. i'm excited to go and see the end results, especially at night time. this looks amazing

i think mickey's fun wheel is sooo much better. the sun wheel was weird, creepy, and not at all disney-like. this is a huge improvement. and when all the renovations are done, it'll fit right into the entire theme of paradise pier (early disney cartoons)

Yeah, there are a few sections that aren't lit but I'm sure they'll fix them before Summer.

The official Opening Date was Friday, May 8th but it 'soft opened' on Monday, May 4th.

The wait time is about 45 minutes.

Though the experience of the ride is the same, people are lining up for it. When it's lit up at night people take lots of pics and decide to ride it.

So it looks like the new Mickey face, new paint job and new colored lighting is drawing people in (at least for now).

As far as I know, park hopper tickets & single day admissions to DCA haven't increased. It's the hotel guests w/ multi-day park hoppers & local annual passholders that make the majority of DCA's attendance.

The retheming is charming but it's still just a ferris wheel.

It probably has a wait because it hasn't been open for so long, and anything newer people go on right away.
