I wish you would have used your SG like Rossington used: Lynyrd Skynyrd's Gary Rossington, told to Gritz in '03 "I play a Gibson SG. I always play it on 'Freebird.' I always played the slide part on that and still do today."

I have only a Stratocaster, its not a Fender it a Takai its about the hammering bit at around 9:14 my guitar wont keep the note going long enough for that is it something to do with the make or because its not loud enough?

@scottsims1970 "Freebird" was Lynyrd Skynyrd's tribute to Duane Allman. Gary Rossington's slide playing was inspired by Duane and Allamn Brothers kinda paved the way for other AMAZING southern rock bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd

I've only been playing for 6 months, so I could be wrong about this little fact, but I'd say it's probably the most desired guitar. I'd love to have one, but they're pretty expensive. I've seen them as low as $1500 and as high as $15,000.

Too expensive for a bedroom rocker such as myself.

@JackSamuelMusic youve already been told that its a Gibson Les Paul, and yeah the cheapest GIbsons are like a 1000 smackers. the guitars are great quality dont get me wrong, but you also pay a lot for the name. GIbson's got a smaller brand called Epiphone, and they are great. if you want that classic Les Paul look and sound, i suggest the Epiphone Les Paul Standard Plus Top, Gibson version=$2500, Epiphone Version=$500, and its still an amazing sounding guitar :D

I keep flicking the G string when I'm doing the quick bends on the B for some reason. And I can't get it to stop ringing out. Its driving me crazy. Tips anyone?

@gilium125 Try to get more underneath the string when you bend it. You should be pushing up into the G string, making sure that you're not pushing down on it at all. Do it slow until you get it right. Practice makes perfect.

@sammydems Thanks a lot. I think the problem I was having was that my fingers were too vertical on the bend and my nails were getting underneath the G string. I laid them flat and underneath the string like you said. and the problem is gone. Its funny though, I've played other songs with bends in them and never had that problem before. Its probably just how this particular lick works.
