break9away - i'm... i'm surprised. Why I haven't thought about this earlier?! both movie and music made great impression on me. There must be something behind it that just a matter of our imagination. You're right! Both are connected! amazing... Immortal remains on of the most amazing movies I've seen.
The choir, violins and the amazing trumpets in the middle, make this song a classical one. Pyramid and Turn of a Friendly Card are my favourite APP-albums. Great video also!
Perfect video accompaniment to what is truly one of APP's most enduring and memorable songs!
Amd just think, the lead singer on this song was the lead singer for Pilot...remember that cheesy 1975 song Magic? ("ho ho HO it's MAGIC, you kno-ow, never believe it's not soooo!") Yeah, MUCH better song here! :D
Yes, and David Paton was, and is, his name. He also sang, among others, for Camel "Heroes" from the album "The Single Factor". He collaborated a lot with groups such as Alan Parsons and Camel, besides being the lead singer of Pilot, who produced the hit "January' which went top of the charts in early 1974.
this made it into my favorites the first time i saw it months ago. i still love watching it. you did an outstanding job blending the two together. thx again. peace :)
Good Call! I don't know where you found this movie, but the visuals worked as if its creator had listened to the album about a thousand times more than I have!
I really like this song. Your music video made me go watch the movie. While the movie really didn't make much sense to me, I really do think that you incorporated it well with this song. I'd have to agree with you that this movie seems to have been made for the music. :)
Thank you very, very much. Strange connections, don't you think? Seeing the movie and thinking about the video was a moment. Who knows if the original author was inspired by the album?
For starters, just get the album (CD) "Pyramid", which this is on and is one of Alan Parsons best-great tunes, great flow. If you like this song, you should love this album.
Also try "Tales of Mystery and Imagination", their first album, and Parsons personal favorite. But lots of good ones to pick from. I Robot, Eye in the Sky, Ammonia Avenue.
have all of parsons records, even bought cds when they came out. our small town had no mtv, vh1 or anything that showed videos. thanks youtube, this stuff has dropped 35 years off my life
Of course my personal images of mythical APP's Pyramid are of ancient Egypt, but this goes well with the sci-fi component of the Alan Parsons Project. Immortal is a great movie. Stargate is another movie which combined Egypt and sci-fi and could well work for an APP's video from Pyramid.. I just gave you a new idea!
I must say that I agree with Kohl93. This is a good rendition of the original Alan Parsons Project recording, even though I hadn't seen a previous recording. I have the record!!
I kinda figured you did'nt actually render this amazing video, but what a choice selction! break9away(CB talk?) I was in to this band once and I REALLY appreciate the way you painstakingly arranged the figures and scenes to the music.well gotta go thanx.
this is actually not a video, but footage from the movie "immortal" by enki bilal. the movie was one of the first to use the "digital backlot" for special effects, meaning thgat only the actors are real but the rest is digital (actors are filmed in front of blue or/and green sceens). other movies done like this are: "sky captain","sin city" and "300".
i grew up as a huge fan of Alan Parsons Project and saw this film before this vid. i must say i like the job that was done here. the "Pyramid" album (where this song originally came from) does have a lot of the same ideas as the film "Immortal", but i never noticed until seeing this vid. all in all, nicely done. thanks for posting it.
Huge Parsons fan, eh? Check my channel! APP video archive. See in playlist APP4 the best fanmade.. including many videos about Pyramid - one fan is doing them for all album!
Enchanting!! The figures and pace meld so well with the music. The imagery has the right elements of mystery that the Alan Parsons Project evokes musically. Great job!!
Exactly! Too bad the rulers of the late 2nd Dynasty curtailed their space exploration funding, oipting to breed more aloof hairless cats... hey, whatcha gonna do?
