  • Hey Roger,Im a fisherman and im going to be getting a boat and where i fish it has alot of cover (mostly logs) and the water is usually stained.ive tried swimbaits, wacky worms, and crankbaits.i just dont ever have luck, what baits would you recommend? THANKS,Tommy.

  • @me53914 try spinner baits on the shadey side of a log, also senkos would be good. Try fsihing EARLY and find spots were sever logs and by each other or even cross over each other.

  • @me53914 With all the logs look for logs that cross and fish the area that they cross.

Fish logs along the length on the shady side of the log. Try a few things that should work great, Try a top water popper very early or just before dark in the evening. Fish over and area with lots of logs not far underwater.

Also try fishing on sunny days when the bass seek shade and fish the shady side of the logs.

  • Hey quick question. I live in Southern Indiana, there aren't many smallmouths around here. I have only caught one at Kentucky lake. Anyway what would you rather fish for largemouth or smallmouth?

  • I love small mouth and large mouth bass. If I had to pick I would take the small mouth because of the numbers you can get in a day. I have landed over 200 smallies in one day and some good 4 pounds too. But I love how big the large mouth get and the skill it takes to catch the big ones. In Life I do not have to pick but for this post I will. Thanks for the good question!

  • u could role wit my family man they r 24/7 fisherman all day

    5*

  • 0:50 nice bass man how many pounds?

  • 9lbs l.m. bass

6lb 4 oz small mouth bass

    4lb 10oz small mouth bass

  • hey exbassguide um which is beter shore fishing or boat fishing and what is the best kind of plastic bait cause i use the shacky head soft bait

  • You need to think how your bait works is different cover. in open water I like a wacky rigged senko in thicker cover I like a bulkier bait like a brush hog. Skipping docks texas rigged senko. In brush I like a tube jig for skipping in to holes in the brush. Think of your lure as a tool and what tool would work best for the cover you are fishing. A wacky rigged senko in brush???? Not the best choice.

    Good questions!

    Thanks

  • Boat fishing is normaly more productive, you can cover more using a boat.

  • shacky head setup is very good for when the bass are sluggish or not biting well. If the bass are acctive and you are catching lots, It may be a good line to switch to a spinner bait or crank bait. If they do not produce as well than switch back. But you may find you start catching bigger fish. You can also go bigger with your plastic baits.

  • I do not have a boat so I am usually fishing off the shores. Lakes are huge and deep what are some good places to look for. I fish in ponds also and usually have more luck than in lakes.

  • In ponds fish what you can the same is true from shore at lakes. Try to focus on wood! downed trees, docks, pilings, floating logs. In the summer fish shady spots. Also if you

  • are limited by the areas you can fish, then fish mostly soft plastic baits. You can make many cast with out spooking the bas away.

  • post some more bass fishing videos your tips work!

  • another very helpful video! great job

  • Awesome information and very well delivered - Great Stuff! Dave. DV Editor. BragNRelease.

  • structure is like a man made wall or pilings or a point.

Cover is like weeds or brush.
