  • How is it that this device has been cleared by the FDA for use by the public? What makes it so different than traditional prescription therapeutic ultrasound?

  • @jamieA1A The FDA? The one that bans organic raw milk?

  • It all depends on your specific circumstance. Treatments can vary, but it typically takes multiple daily treatments over several weeks. Good luck!

  • will the pain come back after use?

  • I'm skeptical.

  • my foot has had an irritation around cuboid and in front of that to the middle of my foot from running....either it started there or the peroneas tertius (in the leg) got strained and caused the problem in the foot, as both areas have been very sore. (not sure which problem caused the other)....so when treating the foot, should i treat from the top of the foot or the bottom? or both? and at what level should i turn the dial? all the way to 11?

  • @lavenderraines, it is typically recommended that ultrasound not be held over these bony areas of the body. We tell users to keep the machine in continuous motion and move the transducer mostly around the bony prominences.

In areas with smaller muscles, you simply would utilize the lower settings of the ultrasound machine. The neck has many tendons & small muscles & it is easy to avoid the protruding clavicle and spine. This is why the machine is equipped with lo, med & hi ultrasound settings.

  • I am skeptical as far as the use of a ultrasound massager on certain parts of the back; namely the spinal column area and the knee and neck areas. If this machine can penetrate what is it 1.6 cm.. I'm not sure of the penetration but I know its deep within the muscle, wouldn't that interfere with the bony part of the spine and certain areas on the neck where there are no large muscles? Can you give me an explanation of using the ultrasound over these areas?

  • about how many times do i use per week?

  • @applehead890, for a detailed treatment guide see our PDF manual for the US1000 at ezultrasound. com/US1000.aspx (download link at the top of the page).

Generally, you can treat each body area 1-2x a day for 5-15 min each treatment (treat daily or every other day). Large, muscular body parts, such as the hamstrings & back can use the high power settings while delicate, bony areas such as the wrist & elbow should use the low or medium settings.

  • @EZUltrasound thanks for taking the time to answer ^^ very helpful

  • @applehead890 of course, you are most welcome!

  • When using this, is one supposed to feel stimulation or vibration?

  • @Foobariu: No, you will not feel stimulation or vibration (like with a massager) with this unit (and other home ultrasound machines). When using ultrasound therapy, you should feel no sensation from the ultrasound waves. If you feel heat from the sound head, increase the treatment area, speed of application & amount of gel being used.

If you'd like more information on the details of ultrasound therapy, we have an extensive FAQs & article database on our website, EZUltrasound . com.

  • i have this product, what intensity should be used for the achilles tendon??

  • @rubeninho12, for Achilles tendonitis you can use the medium or high intensities for 6-8 minutes every day or every other day (max!). Remember, longer treatments are not necessarily going to make you heal faster. Treating more frequently than what is recommended is not recommended.

For more detailed instructions on how to use the US1000 Portable Ultrasound Device go to our website and download the full instruction manual in PDF form from the US1000 product page. Hope this helps!

  • @EZUltrasound what about for achilles tendon rupture after cast comes off

  • @rubeninho12, if you're coming off a cast, you must've had surgery? Yes, you can use ultrasound as a post-op therapeutic modality. It will help with the breakdown of scar tissue & to warm up the area so you can stretch it easier.

Are you on a physical therapy regimen? The home ultrasound can be a complement to your PT exercises.

Hope that answers your question. Please feel free to email me directly at c.beggs@ezultrasound. com if you have any further questions.
