Though i'm aware the demo in this clip and the demos during the 3DO M2 Press conference ( besides the "martial arts woman vs Dino " were totally CGI and not from the actual M2 architecture.
Back in the day - I was a huge skeptic on the M2 based on the marketing performance of the 3DO REAL system. But years later my views have changed after seeing tons of footage of M2 demos once kept away from the public to view. M2 truly had potential to go up against Sega & Sony. Its shame, really.
I've been thinking about making a similar game, It's a shame I don't have enough hardware space, but mostly because I don't know how to mod, or make a game.
That car demo would take a Gamecube or Xbox1 to do in realtime, in a game. It's possible even the Dreamcast and PS2 would've struggled to pull off those graphics in an actual game. The actual capability of the M2, while powerful compared to PS1, was not even close to that demo, much like the PS3 is not capable of doing the Killzone trailer in realtime.
First of all, it was E3 2005 where the prerendered CGI footage was shown. The actual realtime graphics of the actual game do not look ANY WHERE NEAR as good as the CGI stuff. You don't know what the hell you're talking about.
Lying bastards. It was a pre-rendered sequence produced by a software company called Kronos, using 3DS MAX. It shifts 'over 100 million pixels per second' he says. Yes it does - on a 1-bit display (a black & white screen).
It wouldnt have been running at 1024x768 cause its designed for a tv so it would either be 640x480 or 720/768x576 but I do agree its pre-rendered, no graphics core in the day could render that, hell even into the noughties the V5-6000 or the GeForce 3 would have a hard time with that, there is WAYY too many polys for that to be realtime
Not in realtime

I wish M23DO was released.

I always preferred the 3DO over the PS1 and Saturn. Too bad Panasonic failed to follow through with M2

Ironically, in Hackers they're playing a prototype of Wip3Out.

Uh, killzone 2 does look almost 100% identical to the '06 CES footage that everyone cried was CGI.
PS3 is the most powerful console out.

Hmm that would be near 1024x768 60fps, seems a bit unlikely.
