  • HE SHOULD BE PLAYING FOR A CIRCUS THE FAG

  • 2:26 reminds me of when Lukather was jamming with Char and Char was trying to play along to Steve's jazz licks

  • 3:33 whats the name of this song? :-)

    amazing guitarists

  • I feel so happy to see Luke in this clip. Luke is one of the most humble guitar player out there, if not the humbliest! To see Luke sit there and smile when hes playing with one of his heroes makes me smile ten times harder! I have to say that Glenn is one of the coolest cats around and as well a really humble guy! So sad to hear about his illness. This video brights my day up!

  • Good to see a rock guitarist like luk acknowledge that Glen coulda hung with any of them if he wanted to.

  • I...FREAKIN'...LOVE...YOUTUBE!!! (LOL)

  • @MrArtist This is a great video of the meeting of two of the greatest guitarist around. But don't be dissing Mr.Paisley who is also a great player! Don't be a hater it's not cool and is just a waste of time and energy.

  • Thanks for this priceless clip!

  • Steve's a nice guy, I met him at my hs reunion back in 99' as he's married to one of my classmates. It was neat to see him there.

  • wow! two very instrumental players of all time! very cool interview!

  • It's no secret Luke is my favorite guitar player but I've known about Glen fo a longtime! I love 60's Surf music and Glen did ALOT of session work! Want to hear more? Check out his 64' album "The Astounding 12 String Guitar of Glen Campbell" By the way, Bob Dylan plays harmonica on a tune! As for hearing Luke? .... Turn your frickin; radio on! Seriously though, just about everything he's touched is Gold!

  • @gremmiehodad Thanks for great tips, man. Love Luke and Glen is my All-time Hero

  • It's such a cool thing that Steve honored our mentor and hero Glen considering his health challenges he's facing. Don't know when this was done but music is the great healer and universal language that supersedes all negative forces. A historic video.

  • Paisley and the so called stars of today can't even come remotely close to these gentlemen.

  • Luke is genuine fan of music which makes him genuine player in a first place, I don't know if most of the people realize how good of a musician he is.

  • Two of the best and most used sessions players, only from different decades......Steve is so happy, wow can't imagine what that must been for him

And Glenn, what a gentleman and player....It doesn't get better, than this.

  • alguien sabe como se llama la canción de el minuto7:04 gracias.precioso momento.

  • People forget what an amazing player Glen Campbell is. One of the all-time greats.

  • People forget what an amazing player Glen Campbell is. One of the all-time greats.

  • Steve is one of the best.

  • Just unreal. Steve, your middle finger to Jan Werner always makes my day. These guys are top notch.

  • It is an Ovation guitar promo.

  • sweet duo...i love Steve

  • you can't beat the heart that Luke has...he's salt of the earth...great guy and an incredible musician...as well as glen...good to see these two together...

  • Not too familiar with Mr. Lukather, but Glen is one of the most underrated singers and guitarists of all time. One of my musical heroes and I'm only 34.

  • Steve looks so happy and satisfied... like to see him that way...

  • 3:34 What is the name of that song with the yodeling thing? (-: Please help me!

  • holy crap ...gotta say ...i never really knew either of them could play like that ...well Campbell is no surprise but i never knew Luke was into flacpickin

  • Two of Americas greatest guitar players, that the majority of the up and comers wont have heard of!

  • nice, what a combo...!

  • Is Glen Campbell has something to do with Vivian Campbell ?

  • wow. Thanks for this. What a treat to come across this. Two great guys and musicians. Inspirational heart warming stuff. Made my day this one. Thanks for the post.

  • stunning!

  • what little funny peace is Luke playin at 1:28 - 1:31 ? Are there any name of it :)

  • There are some people that I wish would just never get old. Glen is one of them. If he lived for a 1000 years he would still play everyday and he would love to do it. He is approaching 50 years on the road and is heading out on another tour. I guess he will play until he is gone.

  • Wow Glen! Knew about the singer song writing but... Damn dude, gave Luke a run for his money.

  • @SpasticConiption Glen is a stone badass. He was tearing up fretboards when Luke (a world-class badass in his own right) was in diapers. I remember watching reruns of his Smothers Brothers spin-off summer show and gasping in astonishment at Glen's chops.

  • How crazy was Phil Spector?

  • Both are amazing!!

Glen Campbell did a guitar duel with George Benson that was really cool--Can't remember

    which show it was (Hee-Haw?).

    Love to see that one.

    Anybody got it?

  • I don't have it but it was on the midnight special, around '76. Glenn more than held his own. He was playing one of those Ovation electric solid bodies.

  • 2:48 Luke' playing harmonics...so pretty

  • That's a great post. Two greats jammin' on Ovations.

  • i've met both of em

Phil wanted to buy my Telecaster & also told me an amazing saga of an injured Goanna that he nursed back to good health.such a kind act & concerned about other things besides himself, ya know

    what are your favourite animals?

    every dog has his day....................but

the nights are reserved for the cats!

  • Still think Steve Morse is better than Luke... Luke is sometimes predictable, and here, I think Glen even kicked his ass!

  • Hey racecar06 if you r going to bad mouth someone at least get the name right D. It's Tommy Emmanuel and he IS better than his brother Phil

  • "pngaia" Tony Enamel is not in the same class as these guys+he's actually a drummer, his brother Phil is the better guitarist too,Tommy is like eating Mc Donalds yuch! Steve & Glenn are like fine dining, yummo

btw Steve looks real happy too!

    like myself, thats the truth.

  • @racecar06 - Dude, Tommy IS in the same league as these guys - if not in a higher league! He plays drums too, he started out as one, but he is an amazing guitar player too - those years of drumming no doubt made him the amazing rhythm player he is today! And no, BOTH Emmanuel brothers are fucking amazing! Phil's specialty is more the electric, and Tommy's is the acoustic, but dont be fooled - they both kick ass at BOTH types! And as for your McDonalds comment? %@$#*^&*%& - more polite this way!

  • great video!

  • great session with two great musicians!

  • pngaia - as soon as you said tommy emmanuel you lost me! He is the opposite of both these guys! Well at least Glen...

  • pngaia - and your point is?

  • man....the fk time don´t whait for anybody...

  • Tommy Emmanuel , does all this and more, on 1 guitar

  • GC is on my 10 most underrated list

  • I was in a studio in Phoenix, AZ with some friends messing around and we heard this guy playing guitar down the hall. We walked around the corner and there he was, Glen Campbell ripping it up. I knew the man could play, but OMG can he ever play. We sat there and talked with him and got him to play an electric with some distortion on it. I swear to god the strings would have caught fire if he played any longer. We all left that room humbled and in awe.

  • Awesome story - thanks for sharing it. I jam often with my metalhead friend and he has no knowledge of any guitar players that came before Randy Rhodes. I tell him about Glen Campbell and Jerry Reed all the time.

He does not understand that playing metal scales at light speed is a very limited approach. He is a good player but basic blues scales are foreign to him. Sad. He has the ear to be great but he will never get there without the blues.

  • studio giants!!!

  • that was "really cool" - thx for sharing; Glen Campbell, only thought of him as a singer

  • they also forget he was a

    Beach Boy

  • excellent!!! love the part from 7:59

  • fucking excellent two completely different styles but yet two guys who started off in the studio playing guitars for sombody else.........very natural to see luke ask glen if he wanted to use his pick...i love this kind of stuff and see luke in aw of glen .........fucking....great stuff

  • This is beautiful moment...

  • Some BADDDD jazz cats also contributed to the studio scene. Howard Roberts and Barney Kessel to mention a couple. They were untouchable in their abilities. Glen is great too--vastly unappreciated for his guitar skills and a self taught "ear" player.

  • This is fantastic. If you like this, check out Chet Atkins

  • How about the obvious: where is this clip from?

  • Steve Lukather from Nashville!!! AH!! :-))))

  • the rightous brothers you have lost that loving feeling

  • glen is the session KING!

  • What's the name of the Beach Boys song that Glen Campbell plays?

  • Help me Rhonda. I doubt he really played on "all of them", but I do know he played on many of the Pet Sounds songs.

  • Thanks dude!

  • 7:04 - 7:54

Please, tell me what song is this!!!

  • You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin' - Righteous Brothers.

  • Thanks, dude!

  • Great insight - how these guys jam!

  • 2:06 nice!

  • I knew Glen Campbell only from his song "Rhinestone Cowboy" Didn't know he played guitar at such an outstanding way.

  • Actually, Glen started out as a nashville session guitarist before he became famous..

  • he started off as a "session" guitarist. Not a "nashville session" guitarist. He worked more in LA in those years than he ever did in Nashville. Nashville would like to take credit for him even being born but of course Nashville is famous for exaggerating just about everything.

  • Comment removed

  • Could you explain how a city can take credit for "exaggerating just about everything." just about everything, along with some examples please, that statement just doesn't make sense.

  • And seriously, my comment was like 3 months ago, its not even on the front anymore, do you really search through old comments looking for someone to prove wrong? Just to make yourself feel special? That's kinda sad, man.. lol

  • All of you 'Nashville Lovers' need to remember that Fred Rose gave the foundation to whatever Nashville has become in the last 50 years. Fred Rose was from Chicago.

  • Glen Campbell-Guitar God

  • This is GREAT stuff! Awesome in every way! Thanks for the vid!

  • Damn Glen! Why dont you make a guitar album!?!?!?

  • Hey, he did. Check out The Astounding 12-string guitar of Glen Campbell (1963) and Big Bad Rock Guitar of Glen Campbell (1964. Both did not chart and probably near impossible to get hold of now. Glen could have been a 60's guitar god along side Clapton, Green and Hendrix. Pity he gave it up to become every housewife's dreamboat. An astounding posting. Thnx.

  • Glen ripped Steve's cock off.

  • "raunchy" is the song glen.... great tune

  • Awesom!

  • UUh, I don`t know. I think I can recall that T. Tedesco said this what I wrote. Tedesco said that there always was very limited time in recording because of studio cost. A guitar player who can not instantly discover what the composer has scribbled down can not make it. However, it is a pity that there is nothing from Tedesco (the world´s greatest studio guitarist) on youtube.

  • because Tedesco wasn't the worlds greatest studio guitarist.

  • Unlike the late studio Monster guitarist Thommy Tedesco, Glen was not fast/good enough at sight reading, so he stepped out of the studio guitarist business and fortunately enough started a career.

  • You are correct Glen could not sight reading, he read chord charts and had a great ear. I would disagree his lack of sight reading led to his leaving studio playing. I thought it was his signing with Capitol, who knew him well as a demo singer via studio playing that created the opportunity to play.

  • I also did not know that campbell could play like that.

  • I had no idea Glen Campbell could play like that!

  • OMFG!!! Glen Campbell, Roy Clark, Brad Paisley are all MONSTER guitar players although they don't play a musical genre that allows for them to really rip it up.

  • Roy Clark was a hack. Very overrated.

  • incredible huh....listen to reed too.

  • Sheesh, between the two of these guys there's about a CENTURY worth of recorded music. Even now, Lukather is an omnivore when it comes to learning about music and the "biz." How cool is that?

  • I envy Lukather. How cool must it be to have your childhood idol say to you: you're one of the best guitar players in the World?

  • Very cool... but, dude, its true!

  • people know of glen campbell as the front man guitar player but he was a bad ass session cat and member of the famous wreckin' crew along with tommy tedesco & hal blaine. played on beach boys records, jan and dean, frank sinatra. a virtual who's who of records.

  • speaking of Tommy Tedesco, did you know that he, along with Luke and Paul Jackson Junior are the most recorded guitarists of all time ...

So much talent ... I'm so envious ...

  • Great video!!! Just got done reading Glen's autobiography. Seems like such a great person and a fantastic player. Lukather's comment about shitting in his pants is hilarious!!!

  • whats the name of the last song???????

  • You've lost that lovin' feeling

  • Buckstudent is correct Glen has written tunes--but he is primarily interpretes tunes in his own great unique fashion--Jimmy Webb is one of the great living american songwriters and the work he and Glen did was legendary!

  • hace poco steve fue elegido el mejor guitarrista del mundo......gracias por entregarnos tu talento..

  • hey bucks student does he wipe his butt better. maybe you could just enjoy 2 great musicians playing together!

  • I've never been much of a Luke fan, but he plays great! Glen is the better guitarist though. He's played more sessions, made more albums, and written better tunes.

  • Hey Bucks Student Glen dosen't write

  • He certainly did. "If This Is Love" from Galveston is a great song. There are many others, which you obviously would know if you owned any of his albums. Sometimes, he wasn't even credited.

  • I know him get your facts straight Jimmy webb wrote Gaveston and most of his major hits. Have a Diamond Evening!!!

  • I didn't say he wrote GALVESTON! I said he wrote a song on GALVESTON, along with others on GALVESTON.

  • great! thx for uploading ;)

  • This should be a youtube show. Every month Luke with another guitarist.

  • That did'nt suck! That was awesome. I could watch that all day!

  • What i love about Luke is that he is for real! He`s a true fan himself of all these great cats.

  • Exactly. That's what strikes me again and again and that's the reason I love him soooooooooooo much. He just plays it all and with such greatness! it is amazing and he is su much fun!!

  • Nice one, reminds me of "love for Sale" by Bon Jovi... Richie absolutely shreds on that one, he'd fit in with these two here :p

  • Je suis d'accord

  • steve lukather est vraiment un guitariste incroyable au multiples facettes et bourré de talent

  • Luke's Great ! ! !

  • When was the shot?

  • awesome!

    thanks for share

  • Luke... is... GOD
