Thanks man. The animation and effects took a few hours (did it in a day) and the concept/modeling/mapping/texturing of the robot took maybe 8 hours. The effects were mostly made with Particle Illusion, the modeling, animation and rendering was done in Max and the texture in Photoshop.
fire sentry is out of the engineer's depth. however laser sentries are more his abilities.
