  • YOLO! thank you

  • I love this guy. I didn't understand digigity squat about stats 2 weeks ago and now I'm clear on a lot of things. Thank you sir for your podcasts I appreciate it tremendously. You’re AWESOME!!!!

  • thank you very much for this :)

  • Please assist. I have never done statistics before and I have an assignment to complete. I have difficulty with calculating "the mean, median, modal time for scoring a goal", the interval are 15minutes, lowest class 1. I don't know how to calculate these in time.

  • can you please help me?? i need to calculate population proportion with 95% confidence interval, but they have only given me SAMPLE mean and std deviation

  • You are truly someone I admire, sir. Impeccable teaching. After I get my bachelors, I will come try to take a class with you or something of the sort.

  • @MachineExperiment1 That's not possible lol.. How can you measure more men than there are existing?

  • (Applause) You just helped me out so much!

  • @MachineExperiment1 If the sample is larger than the population, where are you getting the sample from? O.o"

  • Great

I wish i had a math teacher like you

  • u have quite a way with words/ teaching

  • GREAT VIDEO!

  • Thank you for this wonderful, easy to understand explanation. I am in a class where the instructor cannot seem to get this concept and information across as simply and wonderfully as you have done. I was hung up on the equation and now I understand it! Thank you!

  • What if a sample value is zero? e.g. 0 rejections

  • Lets just all drop out and watch youtube videos..

  • great video!

  • I love professors that makes math understandable..it does not have to be as hard as some professors make it!! thanx!!

  • Thanks for the help what a life saver

  • thanks dog

  • Ta for putting this online. I had no problems at all to stay concentrated and interested while watching your vids. A+ for online teaching.

  • X with a line over it is x bar :P xD

  • hey Sal your videos have really helped me understanding the materials. I was looking for the tutorials on Methods of Moments and Maximum Likelihood estimators which I am having some trouble with. Are there videos on youtube ?

Thank you for your great work. Thumbs UP!!

  • you rock Sal

  • aaah, hearing those things with a proper english felt like heaven, got it immediately

  • The only thing difficult here is understanding why they use archaic notation like that

  • best math teacher ever

  • God bless!!!

  • Yep, I needed that clarification!

  • haha , 15 mins ago i was searching the vids "i hate to study"... no i love it. thanks, i wish everybody had a way to see these awesome vids.

  • i fucking love you

  • you should put annotations to the next video in the set.

  • I LOVE YOU...LOL My book confused the crap out of me however, now that I watched your video it makes sense. Thank you so very much!!!

  • thanks i have a test on that tomoz thank you. thank makes it easy wish me luck :)

  • Yeap i agree to his excellant explanations :)

i was initially having much trouble identifying the difference between sample and population mean but now, after watching this vid, it seemed like a very easy concept to grasp already ! HURRAY !!

  • Sal, i congratulate u on all of ur accomplishments, i wish i was more like you, I must thank you for coaching me through pre-cal, cal, and now... statistics...i am on the way of obtaining my bachelors in Mathematics and i owe it all to u. My path to my masters will include you and i will keep u posted as i near my destined origing. -Namaste-

  • i actually enjoy watching your videos. you rock.

  • would i be able to self study ap stats by watching these videos?

  • you are freaking amazing sal!~~

  • Very very helpfull

  • if you wanna know how many videos youtube has or many other facts about youtube click on my channel

  • if you wanna know how many videos youtube has or many other facts about youtube click on my channel

  • GOD BLESS YOU.

  • great stuff I use statistics everyday in business and reach the answeres I need but at least now I understand the concepts behind the numbers - should have payed better attention in school - oh well , never too late to learn I suppose.

  • God bless you Sir!!

  • What I don't understand yet is whether "population" is an abstract concept or has an actual numerical value.

i.e. are we talking about population as in population of a country? Are we defining the population?

  • Great videos Khan, always well explained, but I have to say the notation on the sample summation was a little sloppy. Underneath the capital sigma should be an index other than n, since n was used for the number of data points in the sample. sum(x_i) from i=1 to n would be clearer. If you are going to introduce slightly more advanced notation, please be explicit. I understood but it might be confusing to others. Keep on truckin'.

  • is that the notation for UK stats modules cause never came accross the big N ?

  • Great Job ! Made easy..

  • Yeah...try playing Khan and Obama audio at the same time. It sounds very similar. I feel like the prez is teaching me stats and math.

  • I noticed that he sounds like Obama too.

  • thank you, your great man...very talented teacher

  • thnak you..

  • Comment removed

  • sound like obama O_o ... he has a friendly voice. Obama has a robotic voice. Very different.

  • Obama? LOL... no.

Sounds more like Frank Zappa. =)

  • I am in my 5th week of a Statistics class and was so lost until I started watching your videos!!! Thank you so much for what you do, I FINALLY get it!!!

  • Why didn't have i got a math teacher like sal! He makes math fun and easy.

  • Mathematics consists of proving the most obvious thing in the least obvious way. George Polya

  • Truly King Khan. :D:D

  • Thank you!!!

  • Thanks man!

  • excellent teaching!!!!

  • thank you about the mew, x bar defi, helped so much

  • In your sample mean, you used the same letter for the limit of the sum / sample-size as you did the index of the discrete variable.

  • One thing I have noticed in university is that majority of the high performing students get the PRINCIPLES and CONCEPTS right rather than the rest who just get the formulas by heart and apply it in the exam.

Sal helps me understand these fundamental principles and if I get really really good at my academics it would be all thanks to Sal. Such a role model you are for the new generation.

  • The saddest thing of all is that you were in University before you figured this out. I have known this forever and preach it to everyone. Its sad that the high schools dont emphasize concept... our education system sucks horribly... Im afraid to raise my own kids in America.

  • I just graduated from high school, and I must agree with you. The majority of my classes have tried to teach information rather than understanding, and that is a VERY serious flaw. High school shouldn't put someone in a position to perform, but rather in a position to both innovate and understand the world around them.

  • OMG! Thank you that was VERY helpful! Keep them comming!

  • I am about to fail stats. DUde, what would I do without khan??

  • thanks a lot.!!!!

  • Thank you very much Sal

  • ahh are we starting statistics now sal awesome

  • thank you so much : D

  • Thank you Sal
