do you also have something like a strumbar so you have to hit the notes, or do you only have to put the red green and blue buttons

Push the buttons and if there is the arrows you push the record back or forward depending on the direction. Also there's the crossfader (thats why the tracks go to the side)

People need to look up the definition of the word "game". A real DJ is a professional that provides entertainment. A game provides entertainment. This would be akin to a DJ allowing an audience member to come up and scratch a little while they maintain the body of the music. The difference is the game seems to have the ability to go a bit beyond all that. I don't see why people are trying to get up and say "it's not like being a real DJ", when that should be a given.

yes but its a game, games are NEVER the real thing, plus Dj equipment is over $500.

The developers wanted to keep it simple to where people that can DJ can play and where those that can will have some form of challenge. And there are no wannabes in life, if they try the game to feel like a DJ and start to respect the real thing but still not do it, they are a fan. : / wanna be is a misleading term

There is no full-blown mixer but at least they have a cross-fader. It's something at least.

Yeah, I always figured the (Insert instrument here) Hero was for people who want to make music, but don't want to learn the instrument. It shouldn't be taken seriously. But a lot of people have been inspired by these games to do actual music, and I think that is productive. (Just like some people who played Call of Duty signed up for the military. Soldiers don't need a big IQ.)
