Love this movie I remember watching it with my mom and we made homemade chocolate chip cookies and watched when I was a child and ever since then I watch it every year n I will watch it with my own children. I just love the santa for anyone who doesn't believe in santa this is the movie that will make u believe in him again ...

Be aware of the subliminal messages throughout this entire film! Don't let your children watch it!

Watch the cast for example: During the cast dolls are being made on the production line. Ribbons are being tied around their necks. The first doll is of a Black Girl. The ribbon is tied forcefully around the dolls head instead of its neck and the doll is thrown aside. The rest of the White dolls are treated with far more care and their ribbons are placed around their necks. Subliminal Racism.

Did you ever see this movie in theaters as a kid? Dudley Moore and John Lithgow were great in this movie, i agree it's so underrated as well as Scrooged. There's also One Magical Christmas which came at the same time.

@Johnlindsey289 Yes, i vividly remember seeing this one in theaters as a kid. Dudley Moore and Johh Lithgow were freakin hysterical in this movie. Yeah, One Magic Christmas with Harry Dean Stanton and Mary Steenburgen is a really great one too.

Cool, Return to Oz scared me as well seeing it on the big screen when i was 4 years old cause i loved the first movie and thought it would be a great follow-up but what i got was a terrifying experience similar to what i had the next year with Magic on video. Starchaser in 3D must have been neat, i forgot to mention The Secret of the Sword (The He-Man and She-Ra animated theatrical pilot movie).

@Johnlindsey289 Yeah, Starchaser was the third 3D movie i saw in theaters as a kid, the first two being Friday the 13th part 3 and Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone. My brother saw The Secret of the Sword in theaters, but i saw it later on video myself. Magic scared me senseless when i saw it on cable as a kid, as did Making Contact when i saw it in theaters.

Bally28...I couldnt agree with you more.....I am 37 now and was all but 13 when this movie came out, but christmas was so much more magical. Maybe it was the times, maybe it was the way the world was. The movie was amazing and I still tear up when I see the first 35 minutes of the movie. Just amazing!

shit...1984..the memories as a kid, this was what we all wished back then...the twinkling stars n wispy night clouds with snow..xmas was alot more closer in spirit when this film came out. now it feels the magic is gone. anyone else agree out there?

Aw this is the best movie ever, its great to see everyone in the same buzz as myself of the childhood christmas, every christmas eve it was on the telly and the excitement you had in you as a child knowing that santa was going to be coming down the chimney that night, i'd love to go back to the 80's and just re-live it one more time

What's funny is that Tri-star Pictures made the christmas horror movie, "Silent Night, Deadly Night". It's odd for a movie studio to release a dark and light hearted christmas movie within two years of each other.
