J'étais pas encore né quand on dansait sur cette chanson, mais quel frisson quand je l'entends,du pur son qui manque de nos jours.J'aurai aimé trop vivre cette époque, mais je suis content de mon temps aussi
I can't retain myself from shedding tears when listening to this song. This song reminds me my mom and big brother who have passed away. I did not have a chance to go back home for their funerals.
Lovers of African rumba let's celebrate the life of the master this week bcoz it will be the 22nd anniversary since he plucked the last string of the guitar. @rengwa You've got to be kidding!! Franco's guitar was the heart of O.K. Jazz. In this tune, he did not play a single note! Does that answer your question?
@PapaBahia, thanks so so so soooo much 4 the info. Could you kindly look at Aboubacar's posting of Franco's Jacquie(th song tht sent Franco 2 jail) n translate it plz. I'd b xtremely glad 2 hget th translation!
@tbwanat You would have to point out I hid it in a reposting of Attention Na SIDA (because that song re-uses the music from Jacqui). But beware! Jacqui is of a highly pornographic nature and might be considered dusgusting by some.
@AboubacarSiddikh Lol, I saw ua challenge 2 th Lingala speakers 2 try thea hands at translating it. It's xctly 4 tht rzon tht I asked PapaBahia 2 do it. I know it's obscene in this part of th world bt I'd want 2 know how obscene th song is.
Bowule was a friend of Papa Lutumba. When she died, her sister asked Papa Simaro to write an ode to her. Simaro wrote a song in the person of the bereaved sister (sung by Malage Lugendo). In the song, the bereaved sister wrote about the last time she talked to her departed sister; how she was asked to cook a meal and when she returned with it, Bowule was dead. ...At the end Bowule is asked to greet the some dead people like Pajos muana Ndjili..Malage added his grandfatherPapa Ngobobo
@RighteousMuslim Bowule is a loved one who died. The song basically talks about the death of a loved one and how much that person (Bowule) will be missed and how she is irreplaceable.

@AboubacarSiddikh Some day these songs will have to be translated for in the metaphor lies the message and conversation.
