hey guys i am trying to add a mouseListener to a JTextField which I have stored as an array. So I have a private JTextField tf = new JTextField[5];
for(int i = 0; i<6; i++){
tf[i]= new JTextField("Hi"); }
now I have have defo implement's all the methods needed for mouselistener and here is my mouselistener
public void mouseClicked(MouseEvent e) { if (e.getSource()==(JTextField[])tf){ System.out.println("this is a mouse click");} but this is just not working i.e. displaying text on console
@TheRatiniked That would be like sending the army, navy, air force, fire brigade, ambulance, world leaders and everything else to remove a flea from a dog when only a vet is required
i.e.
You'd be importing waaaayyyyy tooo many files to do a simple task. The presence of most of the files would be useless, and they would only take up a hell of a lot of memory and really make the program very slow!
i have a question bucky. why do you capitalize all the letters of a color (i.e. Color.BLACK). ive tested with undercase letters (Color.black) and it still does the same thing, so are there any difference between the two?
I'm a 13 years old and I type faster that you! Imagine some years later: FINGERKING!!!

Why do you have to import Java.awt.event.* if you're already imported java.awt.*?
DMBishin 7 months ago 2
@DMBishin
look int the Package Explorer (where's the list of your files) in JRE System Library and rt.jar. Then you'll understand why ;)

with basic knowledge of how directories work you would assume that awt.* would encompass awt.event.*

why don't you just type java.*; ????
TheRatiniked 1 year ago
@TheRatiniked it wont work look at it like this
type java.awt.*; and u'll find out that the event package is not included.. to activate event you have to type java.awt.events.*;
so typing java.*; is just gonna be wrong....THERE ARE TOO MANY METHODS that come with it to be imported at once.

hahah lol
funny example. thanks for your comment.
I didn't know that it would cost me memory, and makes my programs slow.
I doesn't work anyway though.

No one cares if you are first or second...

Indeed no one cares and they are wasting comment space by just saying "first" or "second".
But anyways nice tutorial.
