  • Howabout "Beer Hero"!

  • This guys an idiot.. Mgmt doesn't need some shitty mainstream guy to ruin them!! Go choice mgmt;)

  • physadellic dude get it right not indie

  • maaaan you just suck, shame on you!!!!!!!

  • This guy doesn't know shit

  • "Indie" rock making it into the mainstream? That's an oxymoron, you moron.

  • indie rock is the best kind of music.

    hip hop is the worst.

and indie rock doesnt need hiphop to make it popular.

oh yeh and as much as i love mgmt, they got rejected not Jay Z.

  • You should really take this video down because you couldn't be more wrong. Get yo fact straight--otherwise, you're just embarrassing yourself.

  • Major hiphop with indie: Bon iver and kanye west

  • rap is a disease. stay out of indie!!!

  • actually it was the other way around... watch?v=dr3rUu6ZS_o

  • this dudes fucking wrong they made a song dumb ass

  • @1prostock no, just no smh

  • @1prostock Actually it's not, its pronounced M-G-M-T. There was already a band called Management, which is why they changed their name to MGMT.

  • @1prostock nooo you say it like this M-G-M-T its short for management tho

  • jZ sucks along with all the other mainstream music

  • your all idiots, especially this tool with his stupid opening ,

    MGMT didn't reject Jay Z.

Jay Z sent them a song he wanted "remixed" and MGMT sent it back and it never got put on his album. end of story.

  • wtf this guy is a faggot what a waste of time

  • i remember when korn and pearl jam were not main stream, i loved those bands like i love mgmt, what they do is not up to me, if they put out music i like i will buy and listen.

  • indie rock dont need a boost. it is what it is. soooo glad mgmt did not do the jay-z thing.

  • mgmt doesn't want to be mainstream. they've said that straight out.

whether you think thats a smart idea or not, thats just how they feel

  • jay worships satan . at least mgmt are new age and admit it. screw jay go mgmt

  • he is an IDIOT!

  • what a faggot

  • why does this guy call mgmt an indi rock band?

  • Dude you should not spread lies like that. MGMT added their touch to a track he sent them and Jay Z didn't like it.

  • Take a look what happened to Paramore after Hayley Williams went with BOB. Why Alternative artists and Mainstream Artists should tread carefully.

I mean don't get me wrong I loved what MGMT & Ratatat did with Kid Cudi.

But I think they gave that ago an thought it wasn't their style. I kinda would've done the same thing as Andrew and Ben did if I was them.

  • This video sucked!

  • wow your stupid as shit you fake guido

  • i just watched an interview with MGMT where they directly stated they DID indeed do a Jay Z song but Jay Z didn't approve so it didn't make it on the album. . .WTF ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT MAN?!

  • ...You are very confused.

  • HE is ANNOYING and STUPID. What a fucking media whore stop promoting your self for five minutes so you can give us some fucking information please.

i agree with supercoolman. Indie music is supposed to be underground...duh

  • faggots.

  • Dumbass MGMT AND RATATAT already did this with Kid Cudi and it was a million times better than anything that Jay-Z would've shat out

  • this guy got all the infor wrong. Jay-Z rejected MGMT get your shit straight seriously.

  • but they didnt sell out so fuck you

  • @nicgabilla That would be the end...

    Im scared now.

  • i'm not gonna lie to u, i think YOU'RE pretty stupid u annoying piece of crap!

  • MGMT? Indie Rock? LOLOLOL. They did make a song called Indie Rokkers, as ironic as this all is.

  • ...I dont remember Columbia being an "Indie Label"

  • Bassoon Hero

  • This guys a complete idiot.

MGMT didn't reject Jay-Z, he didn't like the track they made.

Now they are going to collaborate with another artist not yet released.

Also, MGMT had more then one top 10 hit on multiple charts 2008 & 2010.

So no it wasn't a "stupid move". MGMT also collaborated with Kid Cuddi.

If you really have a TV show, I hope it gets canned. Like now.

    You know NOTHING about music.

  • @bbsbboy amen.

  • THIS GUY IS A RETARDED FUCKING CUNT. MGMT ROCK AND HAVE BEEN SO SUCESSFULL BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT AN INDIE BAND. AND THEY CERTAINLEY DO NOT NEED JAY-Z's CANDY ASS FOR SHIT. MGMT ARE THE SHIT, THIS GUYS A FUCKING DEUCH, AND JAY Z COULD EAT A FAT DICK.

  • what's up with that backdrop, is he in a supply closet or something?

  • MGMT did do the colab, Jay-Z just didn't like it. He's afraid to make that public because he'd get a lot of new haters, I think.

  • wtf!! mgmt isnt even an indie band lol they said it themselves

  • @synth3333

MGMT is in fact an indie rock band, they just don't want to be one because they want money to buy a castle.

  • @laelrush35 theyre on a major label, not independent. theyre not indie

  • @synth3333 capitol records ain't indie. and fuck indie

  • @ringowasbest i mean i like indie music too. its just an opinion. lol im just sayin mgmt isnt indie

  • WOW! That's why i respect them........

  • MGMT isn't about how mainstream they get. They're about the music.

  • jay z turned mgmt down and they aren't indie in fact they hate being associated with that term

  • MGMT said Jay-Z rejected them. Jay-Z says MGMT rejected him.

  • Wow.. MGMT said they did make a track for Jay-Z and he didn't like it. Soo..you Sir, are wrong.

  • Yeah this guy really doesn't know what he is talking about...MGMT isn't really indie rock, at all.

  • Sitar Hero. :D

  • they have a song on kid cudis album

  • dumbest video ive seen in a long time

  • MGMT actually claims that they DID do the track with jay z but that it was jay z who rejected it and didn't put it on the album.

    v=VBDgIue3Xo4

  • MGMT would lose image and respect if they went on with Jay-Z just because that would make them more popular. MGMT is aiming more at the people who like their music, not the poeple who listen to mainstream R&B, who would just listen to their songs and not knowing their name, and likely forget them at the second one of their songs are being "out of date". I'm happy they made the rejection!

    + I WANT TUBA HERO!

  • haha this guy has an indie tv show? he doesnt even understand that MGMT didnt want to sell out! thats why they call it indie!

  • MGMT is indie?! it's nice music i guess but no no no no something along black flag or pavement, not the new-school youtube poop.... and Jay-Z is a CUNT.

  • This guy looks like a fucking frat boy.

  • Rest in piece Jerry Fuchs.

Also if there's still any debate about it MGMT is certainly not a indie rock band by any standards.

  • You should probably get your facts right before you "rock out" on your blog.

MGMT worked with the track Jay-Z sent them, but Jay-Z didn't like it, hence, no MGMT on Blueprint 3. Don't believe me? watch countless interviews of Andrew and Ben talking about this.

  • Um... buddy.. you do realize when you said kid cudi and Ratatat worked together, mgmt was on that too right? so that would mean fusion of indie rock and hip hop already happened. so yeeeaaa..

  • them crooked is average. you suck

  • fuck you. have you heard congratulations? do you fucking think MGMT wants to be mainsteam? If that's what they wanted they would have written another Oracular Spectacular.

  • The only reason they didnt let the song out is because at the end, MGMT said Jay-Z didnt really like how it turned out. Because the song is a bit nerdy and phantom of the opera like. Not Jay-Z's style.

Look up the youtube video- Amplified:MGMT

  • Stupid move on MGMT part? This guys a douche haha

  • i want to fuking punch this fag in the vagina

  • They aren't indie. Indie music aren't signed by major labels

  • o gawd this guys an idiot he does NOT no wat hes talking about. MGMT is the Best band ever!!!

  • MGMT didnt say no, they did it but Jay Z told them it was a little to crazy so he didnt put it on his Album.

  • This guy is a fucking idiot.

  • you could tell that this guy thinks he's pretty cute and loves attention.. making faces and gestures with his arms (like look at me). ohh and by the way didnt MGMT do a song with Kid Cudi? So maybe it wasnt MGMT avoiding "mainstream" it was Jay-Z. This guy's an idiot too, MGMT is sign to a major record label so him saying that their indie rockers is not true.

  • Exaclty. jay z is a satanic douche, mgmt doesn't collab would never collab with the biggest name in hip hop. Indie will stay indie. Ps mgmt is the best band out there.

  • here is the thing though. they DONT want to go mainstream, so good for them for not kneeling down and praising the hiphop god that many people believe him to be and just doing what they want.

  • this guy is an idiot, if he actually listened to mgmt's music then he'd know they would never do anything with jay z in a million years, what a Dbag

  • youre a moron. you live in Jersey right?

  • Uh, excuse me? MGMT collaborated with Kid Cudi AND Ratatat. Also, they're on a major label now, which doesn't consider them an indie band anymore. Maybe you should get your facts straight before you make yourself look like an ass.

  • @TheWowdrop This guys is a fag. You are totally wrong about it being a bad decision not working with Jay Z. I'm glad a great band like MGMT didn't sell out and work with him just to help get them mainstream.

  • you are absolutely overrating the word 'indie', I'm sorry. it's close to ridiculous how you talk about a fusion between 'indierock' and 'hiphop' to enter the 'mainstream'..

  • synth hero.

  • Oh, what a stupid decision not working with Jay-Z, losing the chance to have all of those dedicated and intellectual hip hop fans listen in, I'm sure MGMT doesn't know what they're missing, you fucking idiot.

  • Indie better not go mainstream!

  • this guy is an idiot....people who listen to indie music dont want itto go mainstream...thats the point. and this guy is about as indie as the singer from sum 41. haha

  • @supercoolman1

    @pestopalooza

Indie and mainstream can mix and match. I assume you are thinking of UNDERGROUND and mainstream. Indie simply means independently owned and operated. It is a great success for an indie band to hit mainstream in my mind. To me its not whether they are indie/mainstream/underground/whatever... If I like it, I'll listen to it. Simple as that.

  • @supercoolman1 and those people are called hipsters

  • @supercoolman1 Yeah people SAY they don't want their favorite music to go mainstream, but that's horseshit. Even you don't actually believe that.

  • you're wrong. in an interview they said jay z sent them the track and told them to do whatever yhey wanted to it, they did but it didnt end up on the album

  • THANK YOU MGMT. i want them to stay as unknown as possible. because it's not indie music if its mainstream. and i dont want everyone claiming to love them so much just because they had 2 seconds on one jay-z track.

  • i wonder if jay-z is offended that mgmt collaborated with kid cudi but not him

  • and turntables arent an instrument, but they are cool sounding.

  • i dont think indie rock should be that mainstream

  • I like pudding lol

  • wow my friends brother help setup TripTones. com, it's pretty sick u go to the site and put in your cell # then respond to a txt msg, all u do from there is download any and every ring tone u want they got millions and all the latest radio songs too

  • WTF is this i hear they rejected Jay-Z. Wow....Now see I like da song with Kid Cudi f/ MGMT and Ratatat. I think a song made by Jay and MGMT would have been rightious to the musical ear. But hey I guess it is wat it is. I'm still a fan of them both but I they need to do a song sumthin I can add to da COLLECTION

  • I wouldn't say they're mainstream, I would say they have large record sales. Fuck, the Beatles and the Stones had huge record sales.

  • They are mainstream.

Beatles and Rolling Stones were mainstream too in there time when they were releasing new material.

  • I suppose I didn't explain view. A few of their songs have gone mainstream. But MGMT as a not, they're ideas and views haven't really been exposed at a "mainstream" level.

  • well, to be honest, MGMT is not an indie rock band. They're signed to Columbia, which is a major label. They don't need Jay-z, they have they're own group of cult MGMT fans, who, in my opinion would have been offended. If I was forced to label them, I would lean towards Dark-Pop-Experimental-Jungle-live music. In no way are they an "indie" band. They did have independent releases with Cantora but were picked up by Columbia like what, four years ago?

  • But kid cudi collaborated with MGMT??

    umm the pursuit of happiness??

    it has ratatat AND mgmt

  • i think everyone who's anti mgmt jay-z collaboration has never listened to his early albums, i thought the same way until i listened to reasonable doubt. mgmt is talented enough to actually bring the drive back to jay-z. dont really understand, from an artist's perspective, you'd wanna work with a lyricist on jay-z level. none of us can put words together with flow like him.

  • haha actually bass hero sounds pretty lame.

maybe zuffolo hero or kyoto hero.

    perhaps sitar hero.

    ha that might be difficult.

maybe for the kids a little tambourine hero?

  • idk why its such a big deal to everyone mgmt is pretty mainstream these days

  • fuk yea i hate jay z but like hiphop nd mgmt my fav band so im glad they dinint colab

  • if mgmt started doing all kinds of collabs with hip hop stars...then theyd become so mainstream!!!theyre music really wouldnt be the same to me...idk...

  • yeah you really dont know, whats wrong with people collaborating and making good music, regardless of weather people consider it to be mainstream or not?

  • i think the point of indie is to be independent and away from the more comercial music, im a huge fan of indie music and i dont want it to stay the same

  • How about Skin Flute Hero? With Tommy Lee! Whatever..great show man.

  • Not to be a dick, but how can it be that he is going to film a Television show.....for you tube?

  • the shows get put on youtube for us to watch if we dont have the channel..i think its fuse

  • An hero

  • Heroin Hero

  • the spoons..........SPOONMAN!

  • Fucking idiot.. MGMT is not indie rock? ... He's pretty stupid.. I would pretty much like to smash him! :)

  • keytar however ya sell it

  • tuba hero xD

  • TRIANGLE!

  • The Bass!! They need to make Bass Hero!! XD

  • Tuba Hero!!!!!!

  • bagpipe hero

  • @MassiveTestes

Yes Inis Mona would be epic

  • marching band hero haha

  • FAIL!!!!

  • y would anyone wnana jump out of a elavator hoping to make it....y not just wait in the elavator to be repaired or whatever

  • BASS HERO WITH STEVE HARRIS!!!!

But i think steven will fail just like Joe failed in the mid 80's

  • Triangle hero

  • Didgeridoo (?) hero

  • Clarinet hero would be wicked!

  • Viola hero

  • if indie rock goes mainstream

then its not indie anymore is it?

  • @pestopalooza indie means you arnt signed to a major label, if a previously "indie" genre band does get signed to a major label they become "alternative"

  • @pestopalooza MGMT is technically not indie at all. They're on a major label.

  • @pestopalooza yes and no

  • @pestopalooza and that's the point.

  • @pestopalooza

    encountered that exact thought process...

  • @pestopalooza

sorry to break it to you...

mgmt is pretty mainstream. it plays on the radio, at clubs and alot of people know about them nation wide

  • @pestopalooza i couldn't agree more. there's also the fact that mgmt isn't an indie band. but your right, the new "indie" that's presented in the mainstream media is murdering the spirit of real indie. I'm not complaining about it though, its something that's inevitable but an underground movement blows up, people want to commercialize it, just like punk.

  • @pestopalooza Indie really just means independently owned and operated (self-producing/recording). Doesn't really matter where you go from there.

  • @pestopalooza if something that is unique becomes very popular, does that make it not unique

  • TRIANGLE HERO!!!!

  • steven tyler's gonna fail

  • Good point about MGMT but didn't they also do a song with Kid Cudi?

  • synth hero!

  • Milk-A-Concept Hero.

Take the role of companies like Activision, or the guys who make the Saw movies.

  • SPOON HERO!, and screw instrument, they should make another band hero.. in my opinion Guns n` Roses should get their own hero game

  • steve tyler---fail as a solo artist!!!! bass or key board hero...mostly bass hero

  • BASS HERO

  • Maybe MGMT didn't want to sell their souls you noisy fucker.

  • STEEL DRUM HERO!!

  • SAXOPHONE HERO! hahah

  • triangle hero lol

  • Oboe hero!

  • I don't get it isnt guitar hero's drums enough? I mean, if you've got blink-182 songs and a whole guitar hero for metallica what else do you want for drums??!! Is Neversoft really that desperate for money?!

  • Pan Flute Hero

  • i like pudding to lol

  • Screw listening to 2 new songs, the whole tcv album is streaming from their site!

  • ...?

  • xzylophone hero - i think that's how you spell it, but i'm not the brightest. i

think steven tyler might be good as a solo artisit - but i'm not sure! : /

    r.i.p. jerry fuchs :(

  • steven tyler solo: fail because hes too old, 20 years ago wouldve been ok but you usually need some albums when solo to establish yourself as a solo artist if he makes it sound like aerosmith its a total waste and if its totally different it would sound not fitting for him because we know him better as a singer for an aerosmith kind of sound

  • marimbaphone hero! yay!
