Errm, you're basically saying that Zappa chose his touring buddies because he thought they were more talented than him. I know that, he was extremely picky about who he chose. Anybody who has heard Steve Vai talk about him auditioning for Frank Zappa knows that. The thing is, he didn't go looking for musicians better than himself for the sake of improving himself. He rather chose the best musicians he could find to make sure he could play what he wanted to live since his parts required extreme technical talent.

See I love these guys and all, but every time I listen to Them, I keep clogging up My earphones with dried-up seminal fluid, so I have to get new ones, and in total, that costs way more than getting their next album, so I'm afraid I'll have to pass.

@cortx2lh Its a Strandberg, not a Steinberger. Both are headless guitars, but Steinberger has never released an 8 string, and I doubt they ever will as they're owned by Gibson right now.
