Blah, blah, blah zzzzzzzz Wake me up when Dr. Robyn Silverman end her useless speach.
On behalf of Peter Lenz family: if he didn't like to be a rider how come is that he achieved 9 National Champions????? I know the answer, I know it start in your minute 2:50 thru 3:00.
What a load of shit, kids can play (and die in) all sorts of sports. I've know a kid to die playing rugby... But how on earth can we expect to maintain the high standard of world sport we see today if you don't let these kids do them at this kind of level. Ofcourse there's risk.... but the kid could have been hit by a bus walking to school the next day. He died doing what he loved. RIP
Continued......Why don't those of you afraid of the what if's just stay sitting there on your couches all safe and sound and shut up while the wrest of us enjoy life while we can.
R.I.P Peter, you were one talented rider and accomplished so much in a very short time.
Continued......All the best riders in MotoGP have been racing since they were younger than the age of 5. If they all wait till they are 16 to be allowed to race then none of them would be as good as they are. Accidents happen, kids get hit by cars and killed on their bicycles, should parents think about the dangers of that and make everyone wait till they can drive for that? No! So shut the hell up and stop being so afraid of life. Instead be proud of what he accomplished by his age. Yes it's s
I can't stand narrow minded people in this world spreading the crap of oh he was too young, the parents should have thought more about it blah blah blah. Do you people even look at things past those couple of thoughts? That kid at his age was riding 10 times better than some guys I know who have been on bikes for over 40 years.
Shut up he rode a 125cc I know 10 year olds riding 250 dirt bikes braking bone every weekend you don't hear about that they ride bike that suit their size I race and I ride a 1000cc thats almost 10 times the size of his bike every weekend and have never got hurt no one talks about he didn't just fall over and die he got ran over I see people wreck going 140 all the time and get up and want to ride right then not a scratch on them
Such a senseless tragedy to be sure. I think before a parent allows a child to be involved in a sport like this, they should think long and hard about what could possibly happen to their child. These children aren't even old enough for a drivers permit. Perhaps if he had been older when he began this sport, he would have been more experienced and mature. I don't like people using the excuse that he "Died doing what he loved" He was a child. His life is now over, needlessly!
holy crap does anyone realize that he was about to get out of the way he put his arms up the other kid just didnt see him blame him. he didnt have enough skill my ass even MotoGP champion Jorge Lorenzo crashes sometimes this is just being there at the wrong time/the other guy being blind and why bring up a dirt bike racer they go less than half of what Peter and those other guys r running
Racing is dangerous, i have ben racing since i was 12 years old and I did have to witness one of my clsoe friends die as well. Its tough but its wha tyou love to do and it is dangerous. if someone think its way too dangerous and thinks i nor anyone else young should race then they need to "baby" their own child that way. lets just say that i`d rather die racing, than live without it. and anyone else who has competitively raced before would know that
The kid was following his dream! He was doing what HE loved to do. As a child growing up you are always told to follow your dreams and that anything is possible if you put your mind to it! That's what this kid was doing, and doing a damn good job of it too! To have denied him that opportunity would have been a tragedy in itself! Even if Peter had started racing when he was older the risks would still have been the same!
Critics not involved in racing and raising a child involved in motorsports should stick to parenting there own children and not another child. You show me any other form of sport that emphasizes on safety more so then motorcycle racing. Its dangerous ontrack or on the street. Each and every child and adult understands this.
@padrak18 Pete won his series posthumously. I talked to Peter (not pete) many times when he came out on track. He like many of the kids involved in the sport, understand the full spectrum of what they are doing. They are much more focused because they don't have outside distractions that make others stop and think, this is dangerous, should I really be doing this. These kids have all crashed and been injured. All the parents understand. If the child wants to call it quits, then so be it.
I bet the so called doctor expert doesn't have kids of her own. Everything has risk. Live it and love it or lock yourself up in a box!
