Just brought the book the art of bead embroidery that she wrote with Heidi Kummli. And I love it! Nearly got all my materials now and can't wait to start beading. This woman is a real inspiration!

Oh WOW! The beading work I have seen on youtube is gobsmack gorgeous. They ooze of quality! I never appreciated the potential of a bead until tonight. To all the beaders out there you deserve a standing ovation! Handmade crafts are not appreciated enough.
@fnasring Hi .. I saw this and as a beader myself I use felt to back the cabochons and beads. I have used both thin and thick felt and you don't really need to panic about thickness. Just get a feel for the piece - ask yourself, can I sew through easily and will the finished edges support the weight of the cabochons and beads? Just play around with backing fabrics, you'll get there and you will creat your own distinctive style along the way :) xx

The interface i think she is using is "LACY'S Stiff Stuff" found the mats on the fire mountain gem web site. Happy Beading

What thickness is the interfacing? I couldn't tell the lady at the craft store what I needed.
