My all time favorite Sesame Street clip! This was created when I was in college...and years later became a favorite to sing with my son when he was toddler. Thanks for the memory!
OH MY GOD!!!! I never realized what a RANGE Madeline had! I knew she had the lyrical soprano, but not a low E natural! Holy crap! She's more amazing than she was five minutes ago.
When I arrive in heaven I will buy a ticket to see one of her concerts. To me she IS proof that God exists and gives us a taste of all of the fun and great things ;he has in store for us. I can NOT wait. Every once in a while he gives us a little teaser that makes us fly right and remind us why we need to be good to one another and appreciate the beauty and wonder, she is that reminder, for me. I am glad you You Tube exists.
I love her. I hope when I get to heaven that they sell tickets to one of her concerts. Then I would know I was in heaven........Kristen Chenoworth is the closest thing we have to this.
I just finished watching this segment on the Sesame Street DVD "Sing Along." So sad she died. Thought I might go to youtube and find some people who cared
Madeline Kahn is a timeless beauty. I remember being little bitty, and my family being too poor to afford TV service, but dad would buy me Sesame Street VHS', and he'd watch them with me on our old black and white TV that looked like a microwave because of all the knobs and whatnot on the front, and every five minutes or so the screen would just switch to static, and I had to bang on the top of it to get the picture to come back on. Back when life really sucked, but i was too young to know it.
This was an awesome video. That type of talent, humor, and beauty. Madeline Kahn was and always be one of a kind. Now, I have to go watch History of the World or Blazing Saddles.
Good god I miss Madeline Kahn so much! What a great comedian and wonderful actress... proof that god does not exist , Madeline Kahn taken away from us at such a young age. So beautiful to have these bits of her great work to keep her memory alive. Miss you, Madeline!
I disagree with your comments for a few reasons. First of all, God does exist. And He is also gracious. Because while it may suck that Madeline Kahn passed away, how much would it suck if she was never here in the first place.
@Varlet09 I agree so much! I was so sad when she died, even though I was kind of young, and only really knew her from Cosby and Clue. Then Blazing Saddles and all of her Mel Brooks movies. And she's such an amazing singer. And just the funniest.
@Varlet09 God exists and know that she joins the choir of angels. Won't it be awsome to hear her in eternity. Her beauty is but a glimpse of what our God has in store .
I just saw the lame remake with Elmo & Ernie a few minutes ago on TV, then I remember this original with Grover back in the 80's (or was this in the 70's) & Madeline Kahn (but I thought she was Karen Carpenter when I remembered LOL) and I said to myself, "lame the original was better!".
It's almost as if Madeleine would have cemented a far greater reputation as an entertainer if she had chosen to go entirely with her God-given set of pipes instead of becoming a comic actress.
lol "sing.. af.... ter......... MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! *panting, panting* "i think i hurt myself" "you were great, it'll go away" "thank you"
Thank You from the bottom of my heart for posting this! You have no idea how amazed I am to find this. I didn't realize how influential this was on my childhood. I am stunned right now. Wow.

What a beautiful lady she was! My friend has a camaro that Madeline bought brand new-- as well as the original paper work and maintenance reports with her signatures. It's now for sale... what a find!
