Every video that I watch gives me a little piece of information that brings it all together. I did not realize that the false cast was to dry the dry fly off. Thank you.
@nierates the false cast does dry the fly, but it can be used simply to generate force, going back and forth, before the final cast to get the most distance you can get. Therefore, it really is used, not only to dry the fly, but to generate distance.
