I have now devised a 'X'foil system so that the canard 'cants' in the opposite direction to the keel and is still able to 'steer' at my command which has improved its speed and reduced leeway further by rotating the canard as the boat heels to leeward and still maintains the magic 90º angle to the waters surface.
YES!.....It has a fwd canard, and has its own channel so I can point it 7º upwind to negate leeway on either tack, this proved the CBTF theory, but to improve perfomance sufficiently to beat a highly tuned and suprisingly quick std 1metre upwind -
Putting it simply..... its a handfull to sail, but the speed... is another story.
I will post the 'x' foil demo vid very soon....
