I think he is... I agree with you on the fact that he unfairly benches unbelievable players. However, he has about 12 unbelievable players on his team. Bayless said in his most recent interview that being benched for a whole season was a "wake up call". He now wants to focus on how to help this team win as a pass first score later PG like CP3. We need that from him about as much as we need Oden to work on his clumsy fouls. Just wait, Nate has a humbled star on his hands and knows what to do.

He can score but he is at his best getting into the lane and setting people up. Bayless has a PG body but is nowhere near a PG he is a scorer in the Steve Francis, Mike Bibby mold. There is no way you can use Summer League statistics to prove anything about his passing. These Summer League teams are thrown together, it's all one on one, not team basketball. I also disagree that 6'9 isn't your standard center, but Magic Johnson was the same height Ben Wallace is. Positions in basketball are stupid in general. Tim Duncan isn't a PF and Big Ben isn't a center. Titles are meaningless. PG or SG, Bayless is going to be a successful player.

Well, on offense, Steve Blake usually sets up the plays. Roy is the playmaker and creater. That is what someone like LeBron and Kobe do... they are the playmakers and set up teammates and create for themselves, b ut they are not the PG. A PG will call the play (Roy rarely does), dribble the ball up the court (rarely does other than the 4th QTR) and defend PGs (Roy never does).

Roy is awesome because he is versitile. But he isn't a PG just because he is the playmaker for us.

Yep, you are correct. Roy is not a PG. He does what McGrady, Kobe, etc.. do... handle the ball in crucial moments, and then just be the playmaker on offense.

Bayless will dribble it up the floor, defend the PGs and switch off with Roy as the creater. Roy is our playmaker, but he isn't a PG. He doesn't need to spend that kind of energy.
