An Asian flight crew got expedited through a checkpoint before my stuff once. The TSO at the tail end of the checkpoint made sure my property didn't get stolen while I was standing without shoes and any papers past the checkpoint waiting for my stuff when 20 uniformed Asian clones passed by. The TSA is the illusion of security. Anyone who wanted the blow up a plane in flight (AND NSA/TSA/FBI... THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE ME) would only have to use the old drug smugglers trick of swallowing ballons/condoms full of explosive along with a detonator. You could put the explosives on a timer or even use a bluetooth link to your phone. So for effective security, the TSA would have to have a full body xray done each time you fly and all those who have eaten a big lunch.

I have heard in Europe you do not get to choose a pat down or body scan, it's just straight to the body scanner. That's the future America is headed in..and not only at airports either.

I don't have a problem with the reason for the screening. My issue is with the "customer service". Herding only suits cattle & most people do react the wrong way if yelled at.
An Asian flight crew got expedited through a checkpoint before my stuff once. The TSO at the tail end of the checkpoint made sure my property didn't get stolen while I was standing without shoes and any papers past the checkpoint waiting for my stuff when 20 uniformed Asian clones passed by. So one nice guy? Intern mebbe?

The text hasn't been released to the public yet, but if 1) the title reflects the contents well and 2) it becomes law, that means that you could have T.S.A. agents in train stations, bus stations, etc...

@truthadvocate The *federal* government's role lies primarily in national defense and maintaining a fair and unbiased judicial system that will protect the inherent rights of citizens from government intervention.
I feel that these roles are legitimate as they are enshrined in the US Constitution, but also because they are almost universally accepted by the people (even Libertarians do not typically dispute these roles).
I find it ironic that the government fails at both of these roles.

Enshrined: Preserved in a form that ensures it will be protected & respected. Did writing the enumerated powers & Bill of Rights in the Constitution ensure they would be respected by government? As you mentioned, absolutely not. It's not a coincidence that government violates our rights. It's inevitable because of the inherent incentives that exist in every coercive monopoly. It would make much more economic sense, to allow organizations to compete to provide us with defense & justice.

When the thug started running his hand around inside the waist band of his underwear, the kid started screaming his head off, totally scared to death. The agent said to the parent if the boy didn't stop screaming, they wouldn't be allowed to board their flight. There were a lot of people standing around who looked like they would gladly throttle that thug.. I'll never forget that incident.

The TSA is the illusion of security. Anyone who wanted the blow up a plane in flight (AND NSA/TSA/FBI... THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE ME) would only have to use the old drug smugglers trick of swallowing ballons/condoms full of explosive along with a detonator. You could put the explosives on a timer or even use a bluetooth link to your phone. So for effective security, the TSA would have to have a full body xray done each time you fly and all those who have eaten a big lunch.
