One of the easiest boss fight whatsoever. Then again, I'm not on NG+. Just put some Havel and tank the shit up, if you have a good damage dealing weapon, they're done.
@FoxHimura No. In NG+ they have an Area Effect. A HUGE purple explosion that takes away 3Quarters of your health even if you have a shield, And instant kills you if you don't. Then they just swing at you and duplicate themselves. >:D
Excuse me Sir, but that is not what I meant. I meant "only have that attack in NG+" as in that they only use that attack in perticular in NG+ along WITH everything else. Your first post stated that they have that AoE in NG+, but I have seen it plenty of times in my first run as well.
No matter how cheap this boss was, it was still the best boss in the late game. At least I didnt beat it in one try or die dozens of times from falling in a hole -_-

I thought this boss fight is so unfair on anything other than NG. Once you hit NG+ you really just don't have the time or stamina to do anything but spam attacks, otherwise another will spawn too fast. Seems llike you just had to get lucky and hope he only used the stab attacks a lot since you don't have to be afraid of it hitting you. Anything else and you'll be taking damage or losing stamina blocking. The AoE/Grab attacks are especially bad, and take tons of health, time, and stamina away.

Won with thief set all +9 and the Black Bow of Pharis, and DWG ring bc I'm a thief. Got my ass pummeled left n right but I won lol. I had 720 hp at the time too. Basically each hit was a one-shotter if not id have like 50hp left.
@PsychoProductions369 Just make sure u have ass loads of Estus Flasks. 20 in the +s bc they do so much dmg in one swoop. They 2-hit kill so easily -.-
I only won bc I was able to avoid their combo attacks. I only got struck by single blows with no follow ups which allowed me to flip away then shoot from afar lol.
This fight was hard because I was thief class. It wasn't the fact that I was a thief that made it hard though. Its because I was trying to fight the four kings like a thief. The best way to kill them is as fast as possible before they start duplicating.That just wasn't my play style though so i died like a million times. Keeping my guard down and being completely offensive went against my instincts. But that's how you have to beat him.
I destroyed the kings using only Havel's Greatshield, Greatsword of Astoris +5 and having no armor on and using the dragon torso stone and I never went below half health. Granted this was on the first playthrough but still.
this theme and fight is so epic. You jump down a into nothing but blackness, and than when you land nothing happens. You look around, wondering what's happening, and than suddenly this music pops up and you see this demonic creature flying towards you in the endless distance. Looks small, but when you get close its massive. Than the words pop up
i fuckin spent 2 days trying to kill this boss as sorcerer... until one day i managed to Summon 2 melee classed guys and witch beatrice... barely killed him... almost cried of happiness :D

I've played this game a few times now, to get all trophies, and just recently I decided to take on the Four Kings....I literally fought all 4 at the same time( waited for the other 3 to spawn in) this was an amazing long and hard battle, I recommend to try it out if you're a veteran at Dark Souls. Equip( Silver Knight Armour set) Artorias Great Shield *Obtained from Soul of Sif fused with any level 10+ Shield with Giant Blacksmith at Londo* and a Level 15+ Dark Knight Blade and Cloranthy Ring

@Taki0201 That was most likely the result of you killing one of the Kings and then another one spawning in. There is a maximum of 4 Kings that can fight you at once.
i found this boss to be an uncomfortable experience, the endless darkness was so unsettling and whats worse is that your trapped in this place with the four kings
@Meizuken Glitch prior to 1.04 that allowed someone to duplicate any souls they had to an infinite amount. Made useless by the Four Kings because, frankly, they don't give a fuck about your SL.
@HammerOfNul You can use the magic Strong Magic Shield spell to nullify all of the damage for a short amount of time, now if you use the ring that boosts magic effect length you could have enough time to kill one king before the effect of the Strong Magic Shield runs out.
Whatever anyone may say about how difficult r easy this boss may be ( it's a REAL bitch if you aren't a tank) , you all have to admit that it is a picture perfect nerve wracking fight. The music , the setting , the fact they blink and zoom at you or fire magic , you only have about 45 seconds to kill one before another pops in .... all of those combine to create something nerve wracking. Found myself twitching the camera around looking for the next bastard , muttering under my breath. Awesome :)

I beat this whole game on my 1st play through as thief with only about low 600hp all the way up to the end, then i bumped it to about 800 just now by using Gwyns points. My vitality is 20-21. I can barely take 2 hits from any heavy mob or boss...But im highly evasive making up for that.
I beat the game earlier this nite and i got my dual wield claws rdy for NG+ Going Wolverine on these mobs.

I didn't head into the Demon Ruins until after I beat the Four Kings, Ornstein & Smough and Gwyndoline.

In an open world game I like to explore, so upon ringing bell two I explored below and found the Ceaseless Discharge, thinking I had gone the right way. I of course now know he was meant to be done later, regardless it was my first instinct. Pyromancy also is something I love, so I chose the new class and ran with it. I personally think Miracles make the game easier as I'm now running a cleric.
Just fought these guys about half an hour ago. Easily the most difficult boss I have faced thus far. Its nerve racking fighting one King and seeing more slowly coming at you from the abyss far, far off in the distance. I remember fight three at once and coming the conclusion that melee was not working, so I began backing up to cast some lightning spears, only to bump in to a fourth King who snuck up on me. I then got tossed between the four of them like a limp ragdoll...
