  • "they have been hunted to near extinction"

    nonsense!

There still a huge amount of them in north african desert.

  • The ears do help, they help the Fennec fox to hear the mice and bugs underground to eat them.

  • @natarat08 mice & bugs =/= desert

  • SO CUTE!!

  • ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooownnnnn *-*

  • He is trying to dig away from the super loud music.

  • Do you not think 'exotic' pets are better left in the wild, where they belong?

  • @kaeso100 You could also look at it like this: They have guaranteed shelter. They have no parasites(hopefully). They have guaranteed food. AND they have somebody to cuddle and do all the above for them. So there are both advantages and disadvantages to having one. If people follwed that logic then the first housecats and dogs would have never appeared to begin with.

  • @onimotoko Dogs/cats correspond to thousands of years of domestication, these exotic pets do not. While it's nice that this animal does not have to contend with the harsh reality of survival, it is not a domesticated species by any standards. Dogs & cats were domesticated to assist humans by hunting/protecting, these exotics are keep solely for a pet novelty factor. Would it not be better to leave these exotics alone, as in, what species next will be controlled by man instead of Mother Nature?

  • @kaeso100 Yeah....not a good excuse. Please try again. I really don't see what is morally wrong with it. You just don't understand humans place in the world, or animals.

  • @onimotoko I don't need an excuse, nor do I see why I would need one, I am simply giving an opinion. Please don't try to belittle me, it reflects badly on you. Why don't you explain why keeping various exotic/wild animals in captivity is a 'humans place in the world'?

  • @kaeso100 It is up to us to decide the fate of the world and all that is in it. We are it's masters. You may not like that, but when we decide we want to do something with the earth's resources/creatures, we do it. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it, except when we start using them badly. If someone wants a pet fox, or whatever, they should have the right to have one as long as they respect it and take care of it.

  • @onimotoko No, it is not 'up to us'. Humans have raped the envirnonment and play 'God' with every resource, to our documented detriment. Planet Earth got along just fine before humans took advantage....If you think humans ensure life on Earth survives, then think again.

  • @kaeso100 SO you agree we have the power to rape the earth, but to take care of it? We were always here, with the planet, and we have always found ways to use what is here. And that is just the way it has to be, get over it.

  • @onimotoko We humans weren't 'always here'. It is not the way it has to be. Humans do rape the earth, hence why ecological issues, endangered species, pollution etc exist, all due to human hand. I'm not going to be confused with a fool, so have your last say...and prove the point.

  • @kaeso100 Are you telling me that you are not human? I mean, you're complaining ABOUT humans and their garbage. Have you done any better than everyone else. And don't give me that "humans have not always been here B.S. Whether you believe in evolution or a creation story, that does not hold up. I can't prove a point to someone who missed it like 5 comments ago. Sry, not gonna waste my time.

  • @onimotoko betcha its PETA bull shit. They're believes are screwed up.

  • @ShayShayLaRae I bet you're right.

  • CUTEEEEEEEE

  • If their survival was jeopardized by being domesticated, it would be illegal to own them, but it's not, so there's nothing wrong with owning an exotic animal as long as it is legal in your state.

  • I want one ~ <3

  • holy fuck those ears are HUGE!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm surprised this little fox can still walk!! haha

  • Wow. Look at the set of ears on that guy! <3 :D

  • He's too freaking cute! Love the MCR in the background btw!

  • OH MY GOSH WELCOM TOT HE BLAC PARDE I LOVE YOU DUDE! and your lil foxie^^

  • The Fennel might be trying to bury this for him to load and awful music

  • do they bark or anything?

  • @livyluhu they squeek

  • Omg u see the speed on them foxes lighting

  • It's too bad these things probably aren't domesticated. It'd be awesome to try to get one if that was so. ;P

  • @SilveniumTheDrifter you can buy them, they are "domesticated"" and are legal to have. although you may want to look into your county or state laws about owning exotic animals as it may be illegal where you live.

  • ejem... MCR YEAAAAH! XD

  • ejem... MCR YEAAAAH! XD

  • "Mmmm...soda!"

  • So cute!

Also the music at 1:55 My Chemical Romance FTW

  • do they really make good pets? Cuz want one really badly.

  • Those are huge ears. Is it Ferengi?

  • @anon23bf

    Far too cute for that.

  • dear god this video makes me so jealous. fennec foxes look like perfect pets for me!.

  • OMG Cuteness Overload!!! :)

  • @RiverJudePhoenix93 Overload! Overload! Its a cute Overload! Dont you want to take us home! Cute! Cute! Cute! Cute! Overload! :DDD lol

  • *-*

  • Not only are the Fennec Fox's ears for heat regulation, they also help them locate bugs to eat in their natural habitat.

  • LOL! Him trying to bury something was SO cute! Correction: It's all cute! I love these little guys!

  • Your fox seems like he really adores you!!!!

  • Those ears aren't really for super-hearing guys. They are there to help the Fennec receive satellite transmissions.

  • The ears are for heat regulation. Fennecs are from desert climates and need a better way to dissipate body heat. Look at an arctic fox, their ears are small to retain body heat. As for their hearing, they hear like any cat or dog. Leave the poor woman alone, this is not abuse. That said, I love the little guy. It's to bad I can't get a permit for one where I live.

  • it looks like a pokemon!

  • @rendezvousover The pokemon Eevee was modeled after a Fennec Fox

  • FEEL DA CUTENESS!

  • Awww so cute!!! I want one!

  • OMG, I LOVE FENNEC!!!!!!!!!!!!! <333333333

  • Kawaii *-*

  • My only comment would be that you shouldn't play music that loud. It may just be the video camera, but it sounds pretty damn loud, and their ears are quite sensitive.

I have to remember the same thing with my basset hound. :D

  • Fennec foxes to me are an exact cross between a small dog and a cat, it's pretty awesome.

  • 7 people are blind... not possible!

  • You listen to great music. Blue October and My Chemical Romance. <3

  • THERE SOO CUTE!!! the big ears are ADORABLE!!!

  • Those ears aren't really for super-hearing guys. They are there to help the Fennec regulate is body temperature in the desert.

  • @xXINN0C3N7Xx That's what SHE said 83

  • @xXINN0C3N7Xx i thoght they were to pick up AM and FM radio.... :D

  • @LokiEarth lol

  • @xXINN0C3N7Xx

Actually, they're used for both. The large ears are used to help regulate their body temperature as well as help them listen for prey and predators.

  • I feel like there's no such thing as putting up a video with any sort of animal and not getting comments about how someone thinks that the poster is abusing the animal.

  • @drewblakeman Tell me about it.. I think on every single one of my pet videos, people have flamed me for abusing them lol.

  • @drewblakeman because they are uneducated about exotics--for many of them, captive breeding is the only way they will survive. I have been working with exotic mammals and birds and have personally contributed greatly to the survival of ones almost entirely extinct in the wild due to man's deforestation, etc.

  • @russianhadassah Yeah, and while you actually do good by helping those animals, if you were to post videos about it, sheltered 13 year old girls will think you're tormenting them.

    Gotta love Youtube, right?

  • @AmericanAviator Correct. Sad how many people shoot off their mouths with little/no knowledge. I was raised not to do that.

  • Oh my god. Can you not understand that the music is not hurting the fox? This person raises them. She knows what to do. Fennecs are normally energetic. They act that way all the time. It's not the music. Watch other fennec vids and compare their behavior to this one's. It's the same.

She knows what she's doing. Leave the woman alone.

  • Turn that music down, you fucking idiot.

  • @diavolo1991 they have a greater range of sound perception not sensitivity, plus look at their ears, wild fennecs when resting have their ears spread so they can hear more from all angles, this on had its ears forward whilst facing the speakers, if it didn't like it could have just turned them down.

  • @diavolo1991 lolfag

  • He seems distressed by the noise... :(

  • I bet that thing can hear an ant fart.

  • 0:54 Dawwwwww

  • ahh so cute ,,, i want one

  • Does Tucky keep you up at night?

  • Holy shit how do you get one?

  • im so random but i wnat one

  • dont you feel bad about having a fanncey fox??

i mean not to sound rude at all but they where are suposto be wild animals from the deseret

  • @daddyslittlegirl4l "supposed to be" ? By whom?

  • @daddyslittlegirl4l learn to spell please

  • @daddyslittlegirl4l learn how to fucking spell first off. Second, its still a wild animal only now it lives in more than one place thus boosting its chance for survival as a species. Third, would you rather live in a desert where survival is on a day to day basis or under the roof and care of someone who loves and takes care of you?

  • how expensive are these guys? and are they aggresive towards cats? i see this one isnt anyway.. i know a breeder and i want to bed my mam for one, she was considering getting a dog... we already have a cat though. these guys are soooo cute!!

  • @xaoife07x from what i've seen they're very good with practically any pet (except ones smaller then themselves like rodents) but every one is unique, so it's best to slowly introduce them to eachother.

  • Aww, he is so cute. I've always wanted a fennec fox, and I never knew people could have them as pets. o3o

  • @mismoreHayley You can keep them. They seem to be great pets after just 2 hours of searching. They seem calm Happy And hyper *lol* They seem to be funny amuseing Cute pets. I think you should get one. before that do some searching they might not be your type. Good luckz!

  • @Sarabazzar However, they are nocturnal and very energetic, so you have to provide them with a workout. If you don't, you won't be sleeping much. Also, they're not domesticated, with all the caveats this implies.

  • omg he's sooo cuuute!

  • awwwwwww

  • とても可愛いね。一匹も欲しい、(^O^)/ but wondering how they manage to go toilet? Like dog.. Too walk them?? Or like cat use the litter?

  • @KTSERATA One of my friends has a fennec fox and she trained hers to use the litter box.

  • I just wonder if they're as soft as they look... They look soft like a rabbit.

  • They hear about as good as a chihuahua. The ears are the same shape, but way taller.

  • omg! too damn cute xD

  • I love their big radar ears!

  • do u have any babies?????????? for sale??

  • lol

    very nice video

  • These were my all-time favourite animals when they were just a mostly unknown desert creature. Now people have them as pets! I could hardly stand it when i found out (still cant) mix the cutest animal imaginable with the most exotic one, presto, the fennec fox!

  • fire fox :))

  • So is it legal to get a Fennec Fox as a pet? Cool!

  • @Xartomoutro2 It's legal in some states. Not in Massachusetts, where I'm from, unfortunately. :(

Though I think there are no laws or restrictions on owning foxes in England.

  • calm down with the loud music comments people. do you expect her to not listen to music? im sure hes not gunna die from it. and he seems fine to me.

  • What show was in the background? lol

  • EASY WITH IT.

  • AND I THOUGHT MY CHIHUAHUA HAD BIG EARS!!! Oh Jeez!!! He is massively adorable, and I am going to get one when I move out of this nousy house, and OHH MYY GOOSHH :)

  • isnt the loud music harmful to his ears? i heard that they are very sensitive

  • @Blackarrow19 no, their ears are to keep them cool, not for acute hearing, although they may have it

  • he is trying to dig a hole to escape!

  • My cat does that with straws too, don't know why she likes chewing on them so much.

  • haha u lil shiet

  • do you sleep with your fox

  • it can hear an ant fart with those ears

  • It's an over sized Chihuahua

  • @IndigoCat17 Most are SMALLER than a Chihuahua! :D

  • CUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUTE! I love fennec foxes!!

  • holy shit the batdog itself!

  • fascinating ears!!, i guess one would have to be careful with loud music around the house with that little fellah hehe.

  • how much r they i want one

  • wow, the owner of this fennec fox must either be really lucky or very affectionate. most fennec foxes seem to be out of control with a bad temperament.

  • Wow I want one! The fur looks so soft, and its as lazy as a cat...

  • Lol those ears barely fit in the frame of the video..

    Still cute tho =]

  • Their instinct is to dig into the desert sand and hide when they are afraid. They are very nervous animals in our environment.

  • MK

A ) your the ones that noted that it was MCR

    B) the end, it was Blue October - Hate Me

    Stfu.

  • *MCR

  • the music must sound like WWIII to him, hes probably trying to bury his sensitive ears to drown out the sound..

  • How long do they live for?

  • i was wondering if theyre clean animals to keep as pets? also would they get along with cats and dogs? i really want one but im not sure if it would be ok

  • they are very clean but also they like to run a lot and play hide an seek so they make holes everywhere. They are part of the family of the dogs since they are canines so they get along with dog jsut fine, and cats mm... since they are smarter and fastest theres no problem.

  • thanks for the help!!!

  • where can i get them?

can they be shipped to another country?

  • You can get them at the Fennec Fox store, and they cost $29.99. But wait! If you act within the next 30 seconds, you can get TWO Fennec foxes for only the additional shipping and handling charge! They are great mixed with salad, and are naturally low in carbohydrates. Order now!!

  • u can get them at your local petstore (if they have of course, wich is very rare). they can not be shipped and you cant have them im several countries or states :(

check the legal restrictions in the UK, maybe you can buy one, if u do, they are not expensive and they are easy to care. they even eat dogs food, some insects, vegetables, etc.

  • Shipped?!! Youre not mature enough to have ANY pet you fuckin emo!

  • They probably won't get along with your other pets. Also, it's kind of hard to toilet-train them, since they're still wild in a sense.

  • First of all, its an exotic pet, so I dont agree with that. And second, you can have one, if its not illegal where you live. But let me tell you, this little animal is not in danger, but it could be if they keep selling them as pets. So whatever you do, please take this seriously.

  • Keeping them as pets is both wrong and in a way helpful. The Fennec Fox is actually a lot safer in captivity, there are no hunters to worry about or big predators. They are well taken care of by their owners and healthy.

  • desert fox mabe the long ears tiped me off

  • Lol they're fast little guys...cute would defenately love to care for one..

  • really cool

  • you got My chemical Romance playing in the background in the living room

  • He's so beautiful c:

As mumble055 said, how did you get one?

  • how did you get a fennec fox for a pet

  • @mumble055

you buy them. look them up online...

  • Those large ears makes you wonder if their hearing isn't sharper than dogs.

  • they do have better hearing then dogs. in their natural habitat they will try and listen for insects on the ground to catch

  • OMG how fricken cute!! I wannnnt oneeeee

  • why does that fox have such big ears? :O

  • I think it's because it hunts bugs (among other things) that are in the sand and those big ears obviously helps a lot when it's comes to listening after the prey.

  • Not just to hunt prey but also the ears are very thin, allowing blood that flows through the ears to cool down, increasing desert survival.

  • Since Fennec foxes are native to the Saharan desert, the larger ears allow for more body heat to escape. I am not certain, but I think the larger ears also give them better hearing to aide in nocturnal hunting.

  • Fennec foxes in the wild live in the desert. The big ears help them to cool themselves. :)

  • Pokemon?

  • Adorable fennec. :) I hear MCR in the background! :D

  • Rofl man he is quick!

  • These little animals are ideal for very calm and silent houses, your ears are very sensitive for a noisy environment

  • aww man... didn't think about that, I love loud music!

  • @29782579 thats a lie if you watch a few more videos on fennec foxes you will find out that they make high pitched squeeking sounds when excited happy angry or any other emotion

  • @Hiddenjello keep in mind that their ears are so sensitive they can hear prey moving underground.

  • @MegaBoners keep in mind that they still make really high pitched squeeking sounds whenever.

  • @29782579 their ears may be big but i dont think they are ideal for a calm and silent households. they are vary load and like to run and play alot! yes it would be a good idea to keep the noise level down but i think they would be just fine :)

  • @29782579 Subjecting this poor animal to MCR at what sounds like unnaturally loud volumes? Animal abuse.

  • I feel sorry for him with the loud music and his big ears.

  • My friend had one that would hide things around the house, very obscure places.

  • Question, how much is it monthly to take care of thier needs? (Food, vet, toys, ext) andare vets hard to find? :( I'm thinking about getting one but I want to know if I'd be able to take proper care of it first and get a good idea of thier needs

  • I think they're very demanding pets, cute yes but take way more taking care of than a dog or a cat. They are, after all, not domesticated animals.

  • Actually they've been somewhat domesticated for quite a long time. There about as far along as ferrets are.

...At least from what I've seen/read.

  • Yes but they wont ever be as domesticated as a dog or a cat. Or maybe some day but thats not today.

  • 2:38

LOL, did you just call him a little shit? LOL!

  • oh he is sooooo precious...

  • where can you get one? and how much?

  • come to oman ... you can get a hundred for free!

  • can you have them in texas?

  • yea where can you get one

  • where can you get one?

  • aww! so cute!! i love the big ears, are they good pets when not in those cute moments of the day? or is it that all day? i'm thinking about getting one
