It seems Team Ninja took all the lessons learned from the Prime Series such as letting the player discover the story and making it mostly optional, and tossed them away for explicit narrative.

And if she's a bounty hunter, why would she wait for Adam's authorization to do anything? Isn't that the whole point of being a bounty hunter? So you don't take orders? I get they wanted to give her a personality, but they could've made her compassionate and vulnerable without making her submissive.

How does the Prime series take place before the metroid 2 and 3?? When you play the first Metroid prime game you can scan a hologram of a galaxy where it says Zebes currently destroyed. That is if I recall correctly I'll double check when I get the chance, but I'm pretty sure the Primes come after Metroid Fusion.

And really, if she left the service of the federation what difference does it make if Adam authorized it, and why wait for Adam to authorize the use of bombs/missiles? The gameplay was good for this game, I'll admit to that. Visuals were wonderful as well. But as far as the story goes...it feels like it was an afterthought to the gameplay itself. There were a lot of discrepancies, not all of them having to do with Samus' character. The mystery became completely pointless. Worse, the voice acting was pretty bad. Samus didn't even sound interested in her own story. MB wasn't any better. Adam was completely unlikeable as a character. I think I can do better.
