This is one of the best podcast about mandarin chinese I've bumped into so far! Really well done! I've been studying Mandarin for 4 yrs and I've been to beijing too. I truly love this language, even though it's really hard to learn and requires extensive studies! I was thinking about some podcast in Italian (I'm italian) to teach mandarin.... u might be the inspiration I needed! Good luck!!!!

@LaNoir231188 I have spent no more than a few months with mandarin and well I would agree, it is a beautiful language, but I think in my opinion it just applies to the written language. The spoken language doesn't sound great. I don't think I've heard that many nice sounding languages outside of the romance languages, but well how would you compare italian, spanish, portuguese, french, with mandarin? which one sounds better more romantic, more poetic?

I don't think so:) the languages u've cited r based on completely different systems..I might have agreed if you were comparing mandarin and japanese for example..that would make more sense to me honestly. and btw, ever heard slovak language? that's pretty cool:)
